there\'s been fires all over victoria with over 100 people being killed from it.
Fires are still burning now, they\'re saying they are teh worst fires in the world ever recorded.

We had high winds on saturday, they\'re mainly bush fires so people were trying to get their shit out of their homes, or even trying to save their homes. They just didn\'t realize how quickly the fires were moving. Basically for most it got to a point where even if they did try to run there was nowhere to go. A lot of people got cooked in their cars as they were trying to escape.

Heat didn\'t cause the fires, it was mainly people lighting them for fun, or accidents  like glass bottles left in parks focusing light, people throwing cigarettes out of their windows while driving  etc.. The heat and high winds just added fuel to the flames.

how close are you to all of it?

with all this damn rain were bound to get another huge one in a year or so. usually the trend here is it rains, everything gets green, doesnt rain for forever and everything turns into dried brush and the hills burn like crazy...usually due to some lost, retarded camper

all i know is, ill never move to the suburbs here

There was a fire in churchill park which is about 5 minute drive or even less from my place, lots of land burnt out there. There was also a fire in ferntree gully which is a suburb next to mine. Where i am hasn\'t been touched, mainly because i\'m not in a bush area. Chruchhill park is a wild life reserve so its basically a bush area.. Ferntree gully is similar to my area, but has far more plant life.
