Got nothing to do with how stupid people are. People expected the fires were miles away and wouldn\'t be on their door steps as quickly as they were. The winds basically pushed the fires through fast. You have to realise these weren\'t tiny little fires, these were acres of land with MASSIVE fires burning and moving quickly.

When your in bush areas and driving on roads through those areas, how the fuck is anyone gonna know that just a few miles down the road there\'s huge fires blocking your exit, by the time you find out and turn around to go another way, theres a fire behind you. People were basically trapped.. Thats like saying the people of 911 were morons because they couldn\'t get out of the buildings when they\'re exits were blocked.

Yea, i know people affected by it, but none were hurt.

Oh and LIC, were not the known retards of the world. That would be america.

I\'ve been reading up on the fires in Australia. The count will be as high as 200 dead people. Plenty of them on the roads as they tried to escape.

Fires are fires, you don\'t fuck with them. I lived in LA long enough to know that much. Its sad that people got caught in them, but you get the fuck out if there is a chance its going to blow your way.

Edit: As stated above, this happens in LA often, you\'ll never hear me crying about them either.

I think the problem here is that they get news about a fire 15 miles away, suddenly, 3 minutes later your house is on fire.

Not something LA or San Diego has experienced.

You live in an area of high risk and the weather is showing a high chance, you bet your ass I\'d be glued to the emergency warnings. Maybe these fires really do go at 300mph, but the reality is, there are people like Clips who think guarding their house with a water house really IS a good idea. I\'m sure not everyone that died were idiots, but the vast majority are bastards who think "it\'ll never happen to me"

Thats a trait that crosses all national lines.

Yea, people didn\'t have a chance to leave, think about it. If you heard that there was a fire a few k\'s away and it was heading towards your home. Would you just leave everything and leave. I doubt it, you\'d be trying to get stuff that is not replacable. Thats what trapped a lot of people.
