I can\'t deal with this computer locking up randomly anymore. So I decided to get a budget pc ($500-$700) and maybe update a few of the specs that are low-end that make it pretty cheap.

My brother is getting a new computer and is going to give me his 9something video card, so that problem is fixed. The only other thing he was thinking about is the CPU. I ended up buying a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ dual core in the process of trying to fix my old computer, but im iffy with putting anything in this computer into the new one since i have no idea what it\'s problem is (the only thing I havent replaced is the power supply and I dont think thats the problem)

I dont want to run all the new games on all high graphics, but I do want to be able to run the STALKER games, battlefield 2, bioshock. and being able to run stuff like the new operation flashpoint on medium/some high would be cool too.

any reason I should avoid this computer, keeping in mind im definitly replacing the video card

These are cheaper as they do not include the Operating System... but if you can do the whole OS thing yourself and the drivers, you\'re saving about 200 dollars by not buying Vista, which is what most computers typically come with.

The one Kennedy posted is a good deal, though.

yea i didnt even think about the OS..i dont need that.

Was partly hoping i could find something in-store since shipping a tower is kind of risky, but theyll always cost more since they have to hold it in-store and what-not. Newegg is my favorite but some of the small parts ive bought from them havent been the most secure packages i\'ve ever recieved.

I wouldn\'t let the shipping be an issue. Newegg is the way to go, and while yes I will agree sometimes they skimp on padding on certain things (mainly on OEM items), the case should be packaged by the original manufacturer, so the packaging should be pretty good and I wouldn\'t worry too much about it.

Oh, and get the one kennedy linked to... much better than the one from fry\'s
