I can\'t believe any of you have not said Stephen King\'s IT that scared the living shit out of me when I was a kid. The 3 movies that cored talked about, I wasn\'t even born when they were originally released, haha.

Other fun horror pictures from the late 70s / early 80s:

Creature from Black Lake (1976), The Prophecy (1979), Saturn 3 (1980), Wolfen (1981)

I actually snuck into Saturn 3 in the original release, and it DID scare me... but I still don\'t want to give it any credit because it really is a crappy movie.  Still the scene at the beginning where the guy gets blown out the hatch and diced kinda freaked me out.

Back when I was a kid I saw Akira at the movies, it was in Japanese and it scared the living shit out of me, mostly because I didn\'t really understand what the hell was going on and because of that freaky as hell soundtrack... it still gives me the creeps.

Also when I first saw the Fly, it scared me because the guy was changing and not really knowing into what, the idea of that really scared me, still does.

Movies like this just get you tense, because you\'re anticipating the next "BOO" and shock coming.

I too was scared by Akira as a kid. The end where tetsuo\'s body crushes his girlfriend and theres that big red gush of blood freaked the shit out of me.

I also think I was scared by it because I didn\'t know what the hell was going on either.

Yeah, when Tetsuo started mutating and changing, that scared the crap out of me. For the same reason the Fly scared me, changing and not knowing into what, that is a scary thought.

I finally saw the movie. Saw it with friends. All of them got spooked at the end of the movie. The problem for them was going home and waking up to every little creak in the house. I saw them the next day. All of them did not get a restful sleep after the movie.

I slept like a baby. I have a dog for such paranormal activities to alert me. :D

Makes people think about the bumps and creaks in their homes.

I saw exorcist III in theater when I was at UF right when we had a serial killer (Danny Rolling) on the loose. It was pretty creepy under the cirumstances because there were a lot of coincidences.
I wear a necklace now because I like to know when I\'m upside down.

I saw PA this weekend, too. I agree that it wasn\'t scary but had a cool ending. The thing that surprised me was it got my girlfriend and I talking about ghosts and stuff afterward, which is something.

And, of course, that night there was tap-tap-tapping on the windows.... OK, that\'s rain. And faint explosions in the next apartment.... OK, that\'s just distant thunder. But then a howling "oooOOOoooo". Seriously? Fine, wind, but since when does wind ever really whistle like that? Ridiculous weather after a movie like that.

So PA didn\'t do much for us in the theater, but it did have us "listening" before bed. And, I don\'t think she ever really fell asleep that night.

People said the same thing about the movie. The movie doesn\'t try to scare you. It\'s your apprehension that tortures you. and when you go home, you realize that the scene setting in the movie eerily looks like your own home. And with the same noises.

I saw this film on Saturday, and thought it was worthwhile.  Not flawless, but entertaining.

A couple of arguments between the two main characters were somewhat artificial.  If you knew your girlfriend had personal experience with a supernatural being in the past, would you push her buttons the way Micha did?  He didn\'t seem to have any understandable motivation for his actions.  In a film like this where they tried to make everything seem as realistic as possible, the two actors performances turned out to be the only weak points.

Otherwise, I appreciated the structure, the gradual buildup in tension, the discovery of evidence, and so forth.  Interesting that they completely omitted all titles and credits.  Only an obligatory copyright notice at the end.

Saw this movie without seeing any trailers beforehand - loved it.

Sat pretty close to the screen and felt a little seasick though.

Gotta say the hype completely killed this movie for me. Immensely underwhelmed by it, whenever anything scary happened I thought to myself "now is when i\'m supposed to jump, like they did in the trailers"

However... I saw this last night..

You\'re better off watching Saw movies.
