Windows 7
« on: October 26, 2009, 08:06:11 PM »
Just installed windows 7... it\'s pretty nice so far.  Haven\'t messed around too much with it yet, but I got it for $29 so i\'m not going to complain.  It already has fixed a few quirks vista 64 had, so i\'m already happy about that.

Anyone else get it yet?  Anyone planning on it?

I\'ll get it once I make it back to school winter quarter.  My work will have it on our laptops by the end of december.  I got to play around with it a little on a touchsmart, seems to be an all around better product than Vista from what I hear. (Was not one of those on the Vista hating bandwagon)

I got Beta at work and at home. Will switch to enterprise and home premium respectively.

I\'m a huge fan of the new bar and also the % increase / decrease of the viewport. It\'s way better then increasing the font point in XP :D Also the free "snipping tool" has been really usefull here at work.
can\'t see why not!

I\'m planning to install it on a couple laptops for my niece and nephew.

Since you installed it over a 64 bit version of Vista, I take it there is no longer any distinction in Windows 7?  What I mean is, they no longer have a separate 32 bit and 64 bit version of 7, correct?

Installing it was a pain cause they wouldn\'t give me an iso, so I made my own.  It\'s up and running though.

Really like Windows 7 - MS customer service sucks though.

There are still seperate 32 and 64 bit versions.

I\'ve been using the Beta and then the Release Candidate.  I love Windows 7.  Love the new task bar, Aero Peek, and just generally how much smoother it seems to run.

I want 7 a lot but I bought Vista Ultimate 64-bit several months ago.  Everything is working fine and is speedy on my core i7, just need more of a reason to switch.

Now my work laptop on the other hand needs Win7 before it commits suicide.  Talk about 15 minute boot up times...
