Go see it, you bastards. Then come back here and let\'s talk about the ending. Holy shit.

I\'m going to ignore this thread since I\'ll kill whoever spoils anything. But i\'m going to try to catch it this week since I\'ve been waiting for a movie like this from nolan for a while

batmans great and all, but there\'s still a box around what you can do with a franchise like that

Is it better than "eraserhead?"....just saw that a few weeks ago...THAT is a mindf**k.........if it\'s anything like that, i\'ll go see it....

*edit*...I was on some other sites and apparently everybody is talkin\' about how incredibly mindblowing this movie is...they were also talking about the ending as well...they used spoiler tags, but there was some convo about the ending....i even saw someone mention "movie of the year"....or it\'s the anti-avatar....for me it sounds like one of those rare movies that is actually good that has come out of hollywood in a long while....good lookin\' out gman!!...:fro:

I thought it was good. Only thing that bugs me is when a movie quickly goes from point a to point b and so on. No scenes that are just there for padding or character development. It was all bio bam boom. I also thought it was distracting that he used 3 actors from batman.

But the movie was good and the end left ya hanging. Good stuff.

Yeah, Vid pretty much summed my feelings on the film. Definitely worth a second viewing IMO.

I thought I wouldn\'t enjoy it as much the 2nd time around but went with a friend who hadn\'t seen it yet anyway. Definitely a movie that deserves a 2nd viewing, you really pick up on a lot of stuff you missed before.  I had no idea Leo was a man

I loved it but I did feel that the dream scene in the Artic lasted too long. It seemed out of place with all the action and the general length. Other than that, amazing movie.

finally got to see it

loved it. Not sure how impressive it will be on blu ray with how the movie is, but im still buying it to watch it multiple times.

Wont watch it again in the theater though since most people bug me in theaters. Theres always some guy that always has an opinion about movie trailers that feels the need to let everyone in the theater know what they think

Why? Did they all boo at Shamalama\'s trailer for Devil? Coz I did as soon as his name popped up.

was some old guy that didnt like the Due Date (robert downey and zack galiafinakis) and dinner for schmucks. yea, neither one looked that good, but due date seems like a movie that the trailers cant really show any of the real funny parts..even if they are good he probably wouldnt find it funny. I dont think anyone over 60 could get zack galiafinakis..very judgmental demographic

devil wasnt shown in our movie. wasnt impressed with any trailers actually, but i also have a filter between my brain and my mouth

It was more of a collective groan actually. Everyone\'s been burned by M. Night Sham.

can we spoil this thread already?

want to see what people think of the ending

maybe i\'m just a nolan fanboy, but this movie\'s one of the few that i just keep thinking about after the movie. not really to \'figure it out\' since it\'s pretty straight forward (im sure there\'s subtle things that need multiple viewings tho), but i liked it a lot.

this was a good song, btw

I just saw this movie last night....it was ok...tho i knew it was one of those flicks that you had to pay attention to,....i\'m still kinda confused as to who those guys were that was chasing leo, early on in the movie. I also agree that the Artic dream sequence went on a bit too long and felt a bit out of place.

I think the dream concept was ok in general, but i think it could\'ve been conveyed better..i liked how when leo and that girl was walking thru the city and the girl just wrapped the other part of the city on top of it...i would have liked to see more weird stuff like that and leo and his wife\'s dreamworld was pretty surreal as well with all of those worn down buildings and houses....the gunplay scenes didn\'t feel like a dream at all, but made the movie feel more like an action flick...

Finally...the ending...i\'m going to assume that we are lead to believe that he was still dreaming at the end?...from the way they showed his little device at the end, they made it seem that way....tho i thought that when you had your own little device, it was to show that you wasn\'t dreaming....so i was confused there..any help on that particular scene?

Other than that i thought it was ok...it\'s probably a film that i probably need to watch again to understand fully, but i didn\'t like it that much to the point to where i want to....

I got it on blu ray a few days ago and watched it a second time..think i can answer your questions

1) The guys chasing Leo were part of a corporation that legally did the dream sharing. Then Leo fucked up and ended up getting his wife killed so they have a bounty on his head for screwing everything up. I dont think they went into what the corporation did, but dream sharing WAS legal (they said the military used it to train soldiers)

2) The gunplay was supposed to make it an action flick. But it wasnt supposed to feel like a dream since they wanted the guy to think it was real so he would go to sleep in the dream like everything was really happening. And the guys with the guns were a part of the target\'s mind since he was trained to protect himself from people like Leo (but they were protecting them from stealing any memories, they werent expecting him to plant an idea)

3) I thought the ending was a cop-out from nolan to make it the usual "artsy" \'the ending is up to the viewer\' bullshit. I hate that since the director obviously has a purpose in mind on where he wants the story to go. I dont think its a dream though because everything leading up to that point shows Leo doesnt want to be stuck in a dream anymore. Why wouldnt he stay with his wife AND his kids if he wanted to stay in a dream.Plus they did the whole trick of "oh we didnt know it was a dream" right at the beginning so it seems cliche for him to do it again

And Leo spinning his totem is technically pointless. Noone else has a totem that spins, so leo knows whether hes in a dream or not since he knows what the totem should weigh/feel like (similar idea to the chinese guy at the beginning knowing the feeling of his real carpet and how it felt different than the one in the dream, so he knew it was a dream)...the spinning is just for the viewer to know/have some suspense.

Sorry that ended up being a long post
