However i really find intriguing that GunSpike got such a high score, i have the game and the game plays like a 16 bit game. Now dont get me wrong, it\'s a really good title but it\'s only about 30 minutes long and i finished it the 1st day i bought it.

The game has no story at all and the game just doesnt make any sense (Cammy, Megaman and Arthur togheter in the same game????)and i find it weird that The Bouncer that was supposed to be the 1st Ps2 AAA title got a smiliar score.

BTW the DC welcomes another must have game to it\'s library... Yuji Naka\'s Phantasy Star Online!!!!!!:)

Arghhh! Noo! CannonSpike (US) rules! Yes, it plays like a 16 bit game and thats the glory of it! It looks great also. But, seriously, crank that baby up on VERY HARD and try to make it thru . Then try to limit the continues. Then after that, do it with each character. But yeah, your right, it is extremely short. But, if you love old 16-bit games with graphic facelifts and shooters, then its right up your alley. Point and case: Gradius 3 &4. In my opinion the best PS2 game currently out.:)

And, I have a feeling that the Bouncer will totally suck. Streets of Rage clone, IMO probally. Which means it won\'t have much reply value either. I can say I\'m not the least bit interested in it.

I am glad Bouncer got such a low score. It seems that Famitsu is still not under SquareSofts death hypno-grip.  Every magazine besides them praises just about every game from Square, good or not. I am glad it only got a silver.

Astroboy- if it is anything like Streets of Rage, than I will be happy. That game is the best beat-em-up of all time! Alas, I don\'t think it will be, as it is supposed to be more story oriented. Fighting Force-ish? I hope not.

What were the exact scores though? I wanna know how high up PSO got and how low Daytona got? I am surprised they gave it that low of a scroe, that is easily the greatest arcade racer of all time.

I love to see some of you guys questioing these scores though. Of course, now we think for ourselves now that our most hyped game has received only average scores hahahaha, you guys crack me up.

[q]No way it\'s sivler it\'s gold![/q]

Hahaha, denial, ya gotta love it.

Please post \'em :)

I agree with G-R, it dosen\'t matter how many rave reviews a game got if YOU don\'t like it. Case in point, Dukes of Hazzard was given terrible scores, but most of the people I talk to love it and it\'s no secret that the game sold extreemly well considering the circumstances.

Anyhow, don\'t be dissapointed by the "Silver" rating the Bouncer got. As said before, Famitsu is extreemly strict. Rarely ever does a game get a platinum rating from what I hear. AAA titles are still found within the Gold & Silver rankings, so don\'t go thinking the game is crap because of this. Play it for yourself and then decide.

BTW: I\'m relieved that PSO got such a high score. I\'ve been a bit scared that it\'d turn out a bit more like PS3 than PS2 or PS4. Now all I have to worry about is weither or not the storyline fits in well with the previous games. *Crosses fingers* I can\'t wait for this one!

I\'m with Altered Beast regarding Streets of Rage, SoR2 is one of my all time favourites, if The Bouncer is like that I\'ll be very happy. I still don\'t think a Silver rating, from a magazine that is notoriously strict, is all that bad.

Actualy, IMO Phantasy Star 3 was still a very good RPG. Better than most of the 16-bit age. It just wasn\'t up to Phantasy Star standards which had set the bar EXTREMLY high with PS and PS2. PS4, End of the Millenium, gratefully restored that bar, and IMO raised it a little more :)

Where are those scores though?

Here are my predictions on the Bouncer (if you even care):

-The graphics will absolutely kick ass, which is a given.
-The sound will be impressive and add a lot to the atmosphere.
-The control will take a while to get used to, because of the analog button support and the tendency of game players to limit themselves to "single-pressure" or whatever you want to call it.  Though, after you master the control, you can pull off some truly amazing combos with cool special effects.
-The story will be cheesy.  Though, I don\'t think it\'ll be boring, especially the first time through.  The environments vary greatly, and hell you even go into space. It\'ll get old the more you play though (obviously).
-The multi-player battles will absolutely kick ass!  Get 4 skilled gamers all in one level with interactive objects like tables and chairs and it\'ll get crazy!  This is what I\'m looking forward to the most.
-The undercover "mission" part of the game will be short-lived, but it\'ll be fun however many times you play it.
-Overall, the game will be fun and worth your money.  It\'ll give only a slight hint of what the future holds.

funny, that is exactly what I said about Fighting Force. :)

I don\'t know why so many people believe this will be such a great game? Is it because of the concept? no, That cant be. The story? Nope. The visuals? maybe. The developer? Bingo.

The fact is, this game could play like absolute crap, but because it has that little Suaresoft logo before it, it automatically gets this high praise from everyone. We as gamers give way too much credit to Square, when you look at Driving Emotion Type S and Racing Lagoon, we see that they are not invinclible. I say, rent before you buy. You might end up getting tired of it through playing through it just renting. Ya never know.

We should never be hyped about a game unless it is an installed series. I was hyped about many games because of developer status and pretty graphics, many have disappointed, now I base my immediate opinion off of franchise. If it is new, I usually try before I buy, that way, I dont end up with poo like Climax Landers. :)*

*Most people would say the same about Blue Stinger, but I presonally love the game! first DC game I bought and played along with Sonic! So much blood and cool looking weapons!:)

i think it will be good !! and the reson why people like Squaresoft is because most of their games are great ! so you just can\'t wait for an other great game ! :)

G-R - Actually, WWF Attitude got terrible reviews at most sites.  But hell, I know exactly what you mean about stupid reviewers.  Apocalypse for PSX was ripped on in most places, but I absolutely loved it.  Same with Air Force Delta for the Dreamcast.  You just can\'t trust reviewers anymore.

Astroboy and Living-in-Clip - Personally, I love CannonSpike/GunSpike.  It\'s supposed to be short.  Back in the day, we used to beat games over and over and over.  How many times did you play Mario Bros, Streets of Rage, and others only once?  Since we moved to 3D, all of the sudden games are untouched once beaten.  I play fighting games over and over - even though I beat them in one sitting.  Same with Crazy Taxi.  You just play to beat your score, like the old days.  Although, I gotta say, Gunbird 2 is a better title.  Really looking forward to Mars Matrix and (hopefully) Strikers 3 (Strikers for Saturn is amazing).

As far as beat \'em ups, thats one genre that has not made a smooth transition to 3D.  First of all, old beat \'em ups were beaten in one sitting.  But we all forget that.  Games like that always get poor scores because they are redundant.  Nowadays, people expect a LOOOOOONG game experience.  If it\'s over in less than 5 hours, they want nothing to do with it.  I think they forgot that the shorter the game is, the easier it is to play over and over and over and over (Double Dragon, Final Fight, Streets of Rage, etc).  Oh well.  Beat \'em ups are like verticle shooters - they are short by nature.  Square just has to make a game that people WANT to play over and over.  Some developers cheat by slapping in multiplayer.  Hopefully they did multiplayer right.

I loved Cannon Spike also. My review at SegaDome showed that. I was just saying, yeah it was short. But, it was an excellent game. It had alot of old style to it, something missing in todays games.

Reviews all depend on the reviewer. Trust me, reviewers aren\'t godlike people who can give every game a fair and honest \'treatment\'. I know this because I review games myself. Personally I didn\'t fancy TTT much, but I know a lot of people think it\'s really, really good. So it\'s all opinion. I don\'t care if Famitsu gives The Bouncer (or any other game) a high or low score. Play the games for yourself and make up your own opinion. Noone have the exactly same opinion on every game ever made. Use reviews as a guide - not a definite, final verdict. Reviewers are after all just human beings.
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!
