Yeah, it\'s funny how fanboy\'s make fun of Microsoft\'s design. I think it\'s wonderful design, and a clear indication of why the XBox will handily win the war. Here, let me point some things out to you:
1) Controllers - unlike the PS2\'s limit of 2 controllers, the XBox allows users to use a Joystick and two paddles as well! Everybody knows that the Stick is clearly superior to the "d-pad". This is why many companies incorporate it into their arcade machines. Bill Gates had the foresight to realize that gaming would be headed back into this direction! Instead of blatantly ripping off Nintendo and going with the d-pad (ahem - Sony), he went with the Joystick. Not only that, but look at the simplicity of controls! Gone are the irritating "shoulder buttons" that only Sony fanboys liked. The one button design will save developers a fortune on instruction manuals and development time.
2) Design - Built in Quadrophenic sound! Unlike the PS2 which requires you to run audio cables as well as video cables, the XBox has it\'s own built in Sound System! Notice the two speakers strategically placed on each side. Unseen are the two speakers in the back of the machine. Sony fanboys may be laughing at the ugly design, but they\'ll be crying when they have to hook up to their receiver! XBox INCLUDES a small stereo receiver and amp built in - saving the gamer $150 or more.
3) Memory Cartridges - Enormous memory cards! Look again at the front of the machine. XBox allows huge memory cards - 10 times the size of the PS2/DC\'s cards. Each capable of holding upwards of 2k. Plus, gamers can\'t put their own "personalized" stickers on these cards, clearly labeling them as personal property. Here we see that this proud XBox owner likes to refer to himself as "Defender".
4) Toggle Switches - for improved lastability! Those damn buttons wear out too quick. Look at the XBox\'s innovative toggle system. Like giant Dip Switches. They probably do something really cool and Microsoft-y tool; but as we know, the good people at Microsoft are keeping this under wraps. Even more excitement and suspense for waiting XBox owners! They just give and give and give.
I like the woodgrain look too; matches many Entertainment shelving systems.
