MGSX opinion.
« on: December 12, 2000, 06:58:06 AM »
Now before I go any farther let it be known that I have no intention to start some childish flame war, and if this topic turns into one then I am asking the moderators to close it.

I here that there is a lot of confusion as to what MGSX is, a port of MGS or MGS2.  Lets look at both options.

MGS2 - Really so what is Konami is porting possibly one of the greatest games ever to another system, it just gives more gamers a chance to play it.

MGS - Now here is what I am hoping Konami does.  Who in here says that they do not want one of the greatest games ever made become incredibly better?  Graphics equal to or surpassing MGS2, VR missions included, higher sound quality, more options with the movie mode perhaps.  This would only make one of the best games better and I don\'t see how anyone would not want this to happen.

Are you telling me that after a movie gets old and you put it away you never watch it again not once?

Yes it would be the same storyline but it is so damn good in the first place that it does not need anything else.

MGS is only 1 of 2 games I ever played through more than once I actually played it 2 1/2 times

vagrant Story being the other.

I will goof with a game I\'ve played or if its a multi player game I will always bring it back out but RPG\'s Action adventures or most any game get played once and I move on. There is always something new I want to try and I move on.

As for MGSX, I think it will be MGS2 but designed to run on Xbox. I wonder if Konami can assimulate the gameplay issues they are shooting for on the PS2, I believe Konami is taking advantage of the EE to create interesting innovative gameplay that they might have difficulty porting over to XBox. I think better graphics on Xbox is a gimme.

Never the less I won\'t waste my money playing an Xbox version of MGS2, I will playing the games I can\'t get on a PS2 on my Xbox. like Halo Orchid and Munch\'s Odysee

You haven\'t even thought of a solution that MGSX is completely a new MGS -game, have you?

What if it\'s completely new / exclusive X-box title, so would MGS2 be on PS2?

Well, I don\'t know. We\'ll see that in the future.

But this was just one solution, I think.

How exactly would beefing up the graphics substantialy and extra features bother it?

I thought it was one of the most severely over-rated games for the PS. But, I don\'t get into games like that,so natrually I thought it. My copy sits with dust. Bah. Oh well. I won\'t pick MGS2 up, for either system.

Oh Living-In-Clip, that\'s truely a shame. But well, I can hardly argue about your opinion. But IMO MGS was a fantastic game and MGS2 will be MGS times 100 (or something like that :D). I\'m definatly picking it up.
