If you’re Canadian and you’re in the market for PlayStation 4, then we have some bad news: PlayStation 4 is about to go up in price in your country. Related peripherals -- from the DualShock 4 to the PlayStation Camera -- will also increase in price.
Sony Computer Entertainment Canada has confirmed to the Toronto Sun that the price of PlayStation 4 will go up from $399.99 to $449.99. The DualShock 4 and PlayStation Camera each cost $59.99 now, but will soon cost $64.99. All price changes go into effect as of Saturday, March 15th.
According to the Sun, console scarcity has continued in Canada, with PS4s still hard to find in the wild. However, the newspaper does note that while Xbox One has been soundly outsold by PS4 in Canada so far, the numbers are tightening. We’ll have to wait and see if this price change further evens the playing field.
We’ve reached out to Sony for further clarification and comment, and will update when we hear back.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/14/playstation-4-prices-going-up-in-canadaWhoa, i didn't realize or thought the ps4 in canada used to cost the same as usa ps4. anyway, maybe the u.s. dollar goes up in value, either that or canada's money went down in value. i used to think u.s. dollar is a bit more valuable than canada, but not by much though. maybe it should cost $429.99 for canada's ps4 instead of $449.99. But i can hear fans and consumers complaining that it shouldn't go up in price at all and they do have a point.
