Hey guys. If you've noticed over the last couple months, I've made reference to a project I was working on (but didn't want to announce

). Well that day is today. I am officially announcing Project Bandicoot. What this will be is moving this forum into a new generation where it will be inviting to new members as well as informative and fun. The plan is to make everything on this site user generated, in terms of news, user game reviews as well as the usual banter that happens here; all on a user's home page. This will hopefully be a hybrid of a main site as well as the roots of this place as a discussion forum. I don't have any teaser screenshots just yet, so you'll have to deal with the official logo of the project

What's the point? I'm not being rude, but I am not grasping the point of this. The chances of actually attracting new people is so small that its pointless. I guess what I am saying is why not let this place be what it is. A place for old friends to every once in a great moon post something and keep in contact. More power to you, I just don't really grasp the concept of what and why it needs to be done.

Honestly I like the challenge and I really like doing web development and I still believe in this site. When I took this over, I had a vision of keeping this as a forum but putting in some new content. And the Simple Machines forum software can really unlock some really cool features for a message board. I hear what you are saying and I'm not turning my back on what this place is or was. And I'm the kind of person when someone says what I'm doing is pointless or not going to work, it makes me want to try it that much more. I guess I'm saying I just like to continuously improve upon this place because it's been an important part in all our lives. And if my ideas fail, they fail. No harm no foul. I'll continue to pay the bills so we all can post here. But if it works, we have some new people we can kick around and also become friends with. There's no harm in trying

But no matter what, I want this place to always feel like home to everyone that's here right now. That's why I decided to make this public so I can get input, because we are a community.

So anyway, I was working on this for a while yesterday. Keep in mind this is extremely preliminary and there is a lot of work to do and content to add. But I figured I'd give you guys a little tease of what I'm talking about. Again, this is in no way what the final product looks like, just with the current settings of the forum here.

So you can see the forum is predominantly shown, as it should be. The tiles on the side make it easier to navigate new posts, threads, calendar of release dates (which I need to update again, lol), etc. You can even make topics be articles (like you see with Kurt's 20th Anniversary thread). There is a feature that you can have a main site and not install Wordpress or the likes, but there's no point in that right now, or really ever.

Just an update to show I haven't forgotten about this. Here is the latest on how this is going to look. There's still going to be some serious modification to the colors and whatnot but this is just a better concept of what the final product may look like. The coloration will look more PlayStationy (PS gray background and PS blues similar to the banner font and stuff). I'll post more updates as I have them

Hey Evi. Good seeing you again. Last couple weeks have been rough for me. My girlfriend and I, of 3 years, broke up. So it looks like I'll be here more often

Other than that, been just working, hanging out with friends more, just got a laptop to work on my photography business and trying to get my photography side business off the ground. What sucks is I haven't worked on my photography business in a couple years so I feel like I'm back at square 1 :/ But I'm pretty optimistic things are going to work out for the better

How about you?

Yeah this place will be alive indefinitely. I have an automatic payment of 4 euros for the server space (so between 4-5 dollars a month depending on how well the dollar does, lol). It don't impact my budget enough to care

Jersey is just as shitty and smelly as ever! And our governor decided to play the role of Port Authority and close a bridge

"Traffic Study" they said. So Jersey is up to it's usual tricks. Other than that state is holding in there. Big debate right now is whether to make the official state sandwich pork roll, egg, and cheese or Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese. I for one am on team pork roll.
