I know I said a while ago that I'd post some of my projects that I've been working on (which my carpentry and little renovations to my condo have eaten up a lot of my time over the last year and a half). A bit of background: After I bought my condo, I decided I wanted to build as much of my furniture as possible. 1) Gave me a great excuse to get back into carpentry which I haven't done in many years. 2) It's cheaper than buying furniture. 3) Gave me something to be extremely proud of (and every girl I've brought here seems impressed by my skills)
First one I'm going to share is my bed. I started building this after I bought my condo. For a couple months I slept on a mattress on floor. Found plans for a platform bed and built it. Aside from my trailer, this was my first carpentry project. I planned to build a headboard but had to do shelving and some other things (I'll share those at a later date) first. After the weather got warmer this year, I finally did the headboard a year later. Then, realizing I needed more storage, decided to put legs on the bed, completely ruining the idea of my bed being a platform, lol. But I am really pleased with the results. Below is the evolution of the bed. I'd post in process photos but those are tucked away in archives and will take a while to find. So finished product photos is what you get
