How did u get your PS2????????

I am New to this forum and maybe this has already been asked. I have heard some pretty crazy stories on how people have gotten their PS2\'s and I am wondering if people want to share their own crazy PS2 experience. ME? well I live in a small city in Canada so i got mine pretty easily but im sure a lot of you have your own wild story to share.

I just called every friggin\' store around my living place and finally got a reply that there\'s few PS2\'s left in one shop. Then I used da Force and flew there. I used da Force again and got my PS2. With two games.

Da Force is strong for the weak minded.

I drove my car, hit and run 5 people down the road on my way to the ebworld store in MACSHOP....then i pick up my shotgun, shot everyone on mysight...grab the ps2 and games i want and then ran away.......of ps. i shot 20 policeman on my way home......so in conclusion im sending this message from hell....cause i\'ve been killed by 5 headshot...i also brought my ps2 + games to helll.....hehehe...SATAN allowed me to play it there.....HAHAHAHA.....

just kiddinn....i picked it up on the release date.......

well mine was easy too - pre ordered in march paid it off in august and fought for my place in the first shipment after being tossed around and then i waited in line from 12:00 to 2:00 at babbages on the 26 and went home happy

I Paid through the nose on eBay. But hey, I got my PS2 in November. I paid $485 for a PS2 with one game. But hey, that\'s what I get for not pre-ordering. Well, even though i spent a sh*t load of money, it was well worth it

I walked away with a PS2 that had been reserved for an old lady. We called her and said she\'d have to wait a bit more, her PS2 hasn\'t arrived yet *cough*

I walked into the store. Payed for my PS2. Walked home again.

Sorry, no wild story here.

I pre-ordered mine and was told that I was not getting one untill much later.  I was upset and beat the kid up at the store (jk) I returned my pre-order and left.  Then I decided to goto Walmart in New Hampshire, a 24 hour one, there was already a line at 9:30, more people then they had PSX2.  So forget that.  So I goto Walmart in my home town.  There is a line outside, a small one. So I wait in line, Actually my step brother and my mom wait in line, I had to work that evening.  I had no idea my mom was there, she is a very crazy lady, she really wanted a PSX2 in the house so she waited in line with my brother and got one.  

Gota say she is a great mom, but I am a little embarrsed to tell the story, because people think I made her do it, well I had no idea she was doing it, but she had fun.  peace

I have no story... I only buy my system in a near city and played it for 5-6 hours... nice story, isn´t it?

I got lucky, I waited till 2 weeks before X-mas to try and get one. I was on some site and a guy put up a message that Target in Tampa had just gotten a shipment. I called my local Target and the guy says he just got 20 in :eek: I asked him to hold one for 15 minutes and my wife drove over and got it I was stuck at work. For 3 days I had been using a ps2finder program and tring the big etailers to no avail..I was so happy to get one and give it to my son, of course it replaced my dvd player in living room on the bigscreen and the old player is upstairs now

I reserved Nov. \'99, paid a little more each time I went (to EB) and was paid off in April 2000. I waited in line on the morning of Oct 26th (even though my system was garunteed) after walking 3 1/2 miles. I walked away from the store shortly after they opened, ignoring the nerds talking to the news station, caught a cab, went home and enjoyed my system and 11 games.

I go to school very near the local Stop n Save software, so I go in daily.  One day they had some PS2s, so I bought one.  No reserve or anything.  

My friend was desperate for a ps2 so he ended up paying $700(canadian, it retails for $449) just for a system and then a week later i got mine without reserve and for normal price.

Simple.
I pre-ordered mine in Feb of 2000.

Then I waited till it was time to get it.

I stood in line 2 hours , in the cold.

Then walked in. Got it and 3 games (SSX/Unreal/Summoner).

Came home. Played it.

Went back at 6:00 pm. Got Tekken Tag.

Came back home. Played it.

Went back out at 11:00 Pm or so (don\'t remember exact time).

Picked up TimeSplitters / Ridge Racer V

Got home at 1:00 am. Played it till 3:00 am or so.

And thus ended my launch day.


Of course, I left out about having to fight a mad army for the last PS2 in a desert world. And the people who tried rob me and stuff.
