They\'re are probably shots of the current XDK (GeForce 2) which means they will improve, at any rate it looks like absolute garbage incomplete or not. I will wait for the final Hardware but at this stage I have not been impressed by anything XBox at all, if this (and the other game shots in EGM) are indicative of the XBox\'s capabilities then Gamecube will own this thing hands down.

I really don\'t know much about game cube other than the tech demo i saw. the one that had the walking tree with the squirrel jumping around. I have to say "that blew me away"
I hope nintendo doesn\'t drop the ball this time around as it would be nice to have 3 killer consoles :)

It pisses me off when websites advertise false goods, Gameinformer has a article about Munch\'s for Xbox but they posted PS2 Munch pics. Net based journalism strikes aagin

ddaryl,

The portion of the Rebirth demo jeepnrocks was referring to is actually real-time whereas the rest of the demo is CG. You can tell this because of a slight drop in graphical detail and quality, however the overall difference between the real-time segment and the CG is minimal. I doubt we\'ll see that level of graphics in actual Gamecube games but rest assured expect to see them in plenty of real-time cut scenes. The level of detail is absolutly mind boggling, some as seen in these real-time (poorly captured blurry) pics -

I don\'t quite understand the thinking about that one.  Why in the world would they switch to realtime in the demo. I could\'ve sworn I read its all FMV. Can you provide a link that states this from IGN, DR or Gamespot or another non Nintendo based site

Intersting.  it will be even more interesting to see how much the GC can do with in game footage. The demo\'s are  all mind blowing but I hold reservations on "Demos" because of the over all complexity of full game engines and there draw on over all power.

GC will definetly be a texturing beast.

this was from IGN

Graphics processor: From 300MHz to 250MHz
Polygon performance: From 300 M/sec to 125 M/sec
DVD movie playback: Now requires remote control accessory

Hmm....I c its getting toned down...lol, but I think MS stepped up the CPU speed...wtf is the stupid need a remote to play DVD craP???  anyways those screen have nice backgrounds but the car models are ugly....

Jeepnrocks, don\'t you mean 4 KILLER CONSOLES? Don\'t leave DC out! there is still plenty of time and space for it to grow, as does every console in this generation, don\'t count anyone out, to do that, would be stupid.

IGN have got it wrong (most over sites have got it right!)

It should read;

Polygon performance: From 300 M/sec to 250 M/sec (hence 300Mhz to 250Mhz)

However that was always a meaningless figure, like the PS2\'s 66 M/sec.

It is the sustained polygon performance which is 125 M/sec (down from 150 M/sec).

Dr Yassam, I think you\'re comparing the wrong numbers man. I might be wrong though so don\'t flame me ;)
This is stuff I\'ve read and heard a few people say:
You should compare the PS2\'s output of 66 million to the X-BOX\'s 125 million...
These are the real unlit polygon performance numbers of the two consoles.
Coz the X-BOX can push 250 million MICRO-polygons per second.
So theoretically, the PS2 can push 132 million micro-polygons

Am I right or am I wrong here?
Please someone, clarify this for me :D
