Correct, you\'re wrong.
Those 250M micro-polygons (or particles) are not actually drawn on the screen, it\'s just the power of the GPU to carry out the calculations. For textured+lit
rendered polygons, the performance is 125Mpps.
The EE has the power to perform the calculations for 66Mpps. The PS2\'s GS draws the polygons given to it by the EE, for which the EE+GS combo has the power to render about half that figure for textured+lit polygons.
Then, as with all systems, the performance drops even further when you add gamecode, AI, physics and other graphical features such as bump mapping, lighting, multi-textures etc...
