Jesus Christ man, chill!
I know a great deal of Eq:ing, I am a professional DJ, so thats why.
When I have a play, then I change the eq, of course, to match the scene I am playing in.
But when I am at home and listening, then I haven\'t found any setting that makes the sound better (I go for Auto Format Decode).
I know this may sound strange, that I am changing the eq when playing in clubs and not at home, but has to do with the simple fact that a) the volume can sometimes be very loud, and then we have to minimize those sssssssss sounds and b) people want bass, fat bass, (okey, I don\'t know any terms about eq, but I know what happens if you push that one up and the others down and so on), so then I change the settings to be as good as possible for the particular song that I am playing c) the volume of a scene is much much bigger than you living room, plus the simple fact that (often) the walls are naked.
BUT!!! I haven\'t been needing any changing to play it at home.
So the bottom line is (as I can see it), when you are at home there is no absolute need for eq:ing your music, by using good speakers (recommended: Audio Pro Blue Diamond) all you have to do is change the level of the sub-woofer and your speakers will sound just fine.
Do whatever you like d00de. I don\'t care. I have just said what I think.
My work here is done.
