Phantasy Star Online Review
« on: January 07, 2001, 07:15:34 PM »
I imported the game from japan... played it
my first thing I thought, wow! this is fun...
but then I played a little, and played a little more, only to find out it got boring.. really fast
the scenery stays the same, there is little exploring, just prebuilt areas. You have to start of the in the damn forest EVERY time... I\'m not sure how the online would make it much better either... The story crawls slower then.. well anything, A boring book is more exciting. I would rather play everquest of UO2 on the PC. But kudos to sega for having the first online RPG on a console, but it does not deserve to be called "Massivly Multiplayer" 4 Players in each game is NOT massive! Ultima Online and Everquest do that. I now have to look foward to FF11 I suspose, the ps2 hardrive will most definitly help I hope. So in summary, A good game that gets old fast, a Diablo clone for a console with online play that gets older faster then diablo.

3 of 5 stars
but I can\'t stay for sure what its like online

Phantasy Star ONLINE .

The game is meant to be played online. And you admit you don\'t know how the online play is. So how can you review it? The game hasn\'t been praised for its single player mode. Its been praised for its online mode.

Its way to premature to review the game if you can\'t even try out all aspects of the game--espically when one of those aspects is the main aspect of the game.
:)

Don\'t take this as a flame either Chorno, as you know I have nothing against you.
