hmmmm... the most addicting games often times are the ones that are finite (i.e. resident evil, silent hill ect..)
I would sometimes play those games for 12-15 hrs and even more on occasion. Just wanting to see the next level or find out why that guy in code veronica was a cross dressing freak
So I would have to say the most addicting game ever may have been the first tomb raider or the first resident evil game because we were entering a whole new world of gameplay and graphic power on a console... the 3-d world. Anyone remember the first time they played resident evil and the dobermans jumped thru the window ? Yikes !! Who here piss@d their pants? (entire forum raises hand in unison)
Or how about the first time you dove laura off of a cliff and missed ? Damn, I just wanted to get new levels to Find new and exciting ways to kill her !! (everyone here loved to see laura plummet to her death )
Then games kept getting better and better but it took a super game to break the initial feel of the first 2 titles mentioned.. that game... metal gear solid
So here is my list of the most addicting games ever
Resident evil series
Tomb raider 1
metal gear solid
ape escape
silent hill
syphon filter
those were in no particular order
In the replay value department i would have to say tony hawk and gran turismo or a dead draw with driver right on their arses
I hate to say this but nothing in this "next generation has yet to give me that feeling that the orignal playstation did. Sure I will stay up for hours on end for a good game , hell i\'d stay up 24 hrs straight for a good action game. But so far even the mighty ssx falls short of games that are 5 years its senior. Sure the graphics are awesome but did you ever here anyone say that psone games looked like nothing more than snes games with a little bit cleaner graphics ???
NO FU@*!NG WAYI am optimistic though, because we have yet to see a quarter of this systems power used. Their will certainly be new genres created and some made new all again, but i am 100% positive that sony and its developers can bring that feeling back once again
Damn im ramblin..
P.S. Sony if your listening .. Get your asses to work on the next warhwk and destruction derby games
