X-box\'s size compared to the ps2\'s.

Judge it by its size I does. Only way to fit that gargantuan boxie in my room is to hang it on an unoccupied wall. Or if it could be placed vertically, that\'d be another story....

To me it still looks a bit... cheap... "Look et me, I\'m X\'y, I\'m a bit curvy. Oh, touch me, yes, there!". Er... Bah, the casing matters not. It\'s the inside that makes or breaks any machine.

On a side note... the damn X-Box controller seems like it\'s about the size of the PSOne, whoah.

Since when did size become an issue? I never heard this argument before? Before the PS2 was even shown or NGC for that matter nobody said "Damn I hope it\'s not big". Just something else to grab onto!

They probly made it this big to get better airflow.The thing should require alot of cooling.

No, but now people can see it compared to other consoles - they couldn\'t before.

I don\'t care about it\'s size, but it is without a doubt somewhat bigger than we\'re used to. That\'s hardly \'just another thing to grab onto\'.

Your missing the point.  I just don\'t see the point in comparing size in the first place. Why would you care? (I know you don\'t Sam but I\'m talking about this thread in general) If DC, PS2, or NGC were that big I don\'t think it would make them better or worse.

it may not be important, but you have to admit, that the huge size of the thing certainly isn\'t a plus

The Bigger the worse.Takes more space and you cant even place it vertically.
And not only its big.It looks ugly.Reminds me a bit of the N64.
The contoller is also very big and I dont think its comfortable in your hands.It means bigger movements with your fingers to reach the analog from the digital buttons and from the action buttons to the other analog.

The Bigger things suit the BIG - i am not that big of a guy and my hand s will have trouble with that dang controller to say the least.

Wish they would have taken that into consideration.

Also if consoles keep getting bigger every generation - iamgine how big they will be in the next generation or the one after that.

I would have to agree with you but guess what that pic of the xbox you have there is not what it will look like. As you can see from the pic the xbox there is just a plastic case.



The real case will have all the final touches like this one. here is a real pic of the XBOX!!!!!   Very nice indeed. oh yeah if you haven\'t tried the controller than don\'t comment on it, same goes for NGC.
i was at ces2001 i held the controller and man that puppy ROCKED!!! i kid you not, just wait till it comes out and try it, you will see i speak the truth.

Oh yeah nothing will ever bet the "MOUSE" when it comes to REAL TIME STRATEGY, FPS, and some action, depending on the game. MS better come out with a mouse man or i\'ll be pissed.

This is the poorest excuse I have ever heard, and quite stupid. First off alot of people are *****ing about the size, but I ask what the hell does size have to do with anything, the damn machine is not 6ft tall 5 ft wide. The only reason you guys are *****ing about the size is because you will try and find anything that makes it look inferior to psx2. Or you just know that xbox will kicks psx2 ass, and feel the need to pick at it. I will bet that if sony made the psx2 that size none of you would be complaining, matter of fact you would be saying things like wow what a monster sysytem, this thing will rock, etc.

because alot of people here are so biased you can see with a poor excuse of a thread based on the xbox\'s size being a flaw in the system. I ask for one legitimate reason why the size of the xbox would stop the average consumer from purchasing it, matter of fact people associate(0r the casula gammer) with bigger meaning better.  



Don\'t forget ms found as well as sega that the avergae casula gamer from 16 and up found the ps1 controller to be to small and cramp that is why sega as well as MS made them bigger. yet the size doses not comprmise the comfort, i was very impressed when i held the XBOX controller, it was by FAR COMFORTABLE alot and i man alot more comfy than the dc ans psx2. Although i have yet to try out the NGC controller
