errrrr...SONY Delayed it AGAIN !!!

yes you heard me right...SONY delayed the US release for Gran Turismo 3...

from April 16, 2001 to June 2, 2001..now we gotta wait even LONGER for the MOST anticapated game..is it worth it ? how much more can you do to the game ? the game is at its best..i dont think you want to go a lil overboard on adding more stuff to it..if its updating other stuff lil little bugs or errors, then i guess its ok but another 2 month delay ? now we gotta wait 4 months total...errrrr.

at least its 1 less game/system to buy in March..

You see. They may want to TEST the game before releasing it.. Making sure all the bugs are fixed etc. Do u WANT a game that has bugs?

I don\'t know SoulGrind...  Yes, I want the bugs tested out.  But cripes!!!  I\'d like a version of GT to make it to the shelves before the NEXT version of GT is due to come out!!!  This is taking forever.  Get it???  Forever!!!

And not just this game...Games in general...  I\'ve already posted on this point, but I swear I believe game publishers know well in advance the *actual* date (say with GT3 as an example, suppose they knew ALL ALONG that they were not going to release it until June \'01).  Yet they suggest publicly an earlier release date to whet the appetites and focus the cash to them.  Think about the racing games (good or bad) that GT3 might be keeping gamers from buying b/c the gamers are holding onto their money for a game they believe is "right around the corner"...  Then it gets "nudged" just a little out of grasp (but close enough for them to *wait*)...  What happens?  Those other games don\'t get purchased (okay, at least not as many do)...

As a working adult I can buy pretty much anything I want, but that doesn\'t mean I don\'t cry foul when publishers push back release dates.  Its just a flat out bummer...

You ever heard the saying.. "it will be done, When its DONE"


Its a good little saying. I think Release dates on any game are crap. A release date should be made AFTER the game is completed not while it\'s being developed. Who knows when a game is gonna be finshed.  So i think developers should be saying the games will be done when there done. Then give a release date after there finshed.

yes i want the bugs fixed..but how long does it take ? it gets delayed month after month after month..

if i recall it was a launch game ? or was it due out in november ? then it was delayed to december, then janurary, feburary, march, april and then the biggest jump to june...errrrrr..by the time it comes out, the PS3 will be out already ..but i guess its worth it..kinda

GT3 will be great and all, but last time I checked there will also be great games released before it.  It\'s only one game...

Acually Gt3 (originally GT2000) was supposed to be released on March 4, 2000; the date that the Ps2 was released in Japan!  But look at the improvements made in this timeframe!  They are amazing!

yea i think that GT3 will be like a fine wine - it only can get better with time

but i am tired of waitting too - but the key to gaming is patientence - you need it to complete some games and now you need it to wait for them

give the developers a break - i am sure they are working their butts off tring to get this thing on the shelves

This doesn\'t concider me at all, as I live in Europe, but let me say that few months of extra wait doesn\'t bring much to the pain.

I\'d wait that few months without complaining, if the game\'s bug-tested, played trough by game-testers ( the horrible bug of GT2 in japan why you couldn\'t complete the game is one example why this should be done ), fixing graphical glitches ( so that no X-box fan could flame GT3 for bad graphics and graphic-bugs etc. ), so forth making the game more enjoyable for us all.

And, don\'t get me wrong here, the few months do just good for the game. Think it from this view:
When you finally get your hands on the GT3, you won\'t complain about the extra-wait at all.

maybe the extra time is need to get all the dashboards together... and the weather, we can\'t forget the weather

the longer they take, the more they learn.  maybe we will finally see what the playstation2 is capable of... i mean say what you will, but i havent bought a game yet that i like (excluding madden of course) but heck nfl 2k1 looked just as good to me.

i mean jeeez to tell you the truth i\'m very disappointed (sp?) i hardly play my playstation2.  to be quite frank i can\'t wit for the xbox.  i own 7 titles and i hardly play one.  i play maybe a couple hours a month nowdays.

one the other hand i can\'t wait for starwars starfighter tiger 01 and there was one more that i wanted.

i\'ve been playing pc all the time now... there\'s some great titles i want, but i want to get "starband" (first internet access via satellite that is capable of uploads and downloads) first because it will be ages before dsl, cable etc is available in my area.  it\'s going to cost me 650 to get it installed then 70 a month w/ a 1 year contract.

I guess it will just be even longer before I need to pick up a PS2 then, oh well.  They can blame themselves for sluggish sales in the next month or so.
