What was/is your best console ever?

The best system that i bought was the SNES AND THE PSX.

It doesn\'t matter much cause I like all the systems it\'s the games that have been my fav. MGS, FF7, Zelda, RE, Shenmue, these are the things that I remember.

I would have to say though that my N64 was played the most just ahead of the NES and SNES, my Dreamcast is catching up though and could take the lead. My PS2 has had quite a work out but it\'s still young:D give it a year. My Saturn and MD where also played alot.....aw damn I love em all:crying: I don\'t regret buying any of them:)

Hang on this is a debating forum......um ah I mean Gamecube is the best no wait it\'s not out yet, oh well that doesn\'t seem to stop alot of people though:rolleyes: *cough* xbox fanboys *cough*

well for me it was SNES

all my fav games of all time on the system

mostly i loved the great plots of constant RPG\'s on the system i loved Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia,Final Fantasy 3, and all the other great games.

plus the SNES was just plain and simple a great gaming experience that made a bunch of people gamers.

I like something about all of them, but my favorite is probably the NES.

The Sega Master System. It still runs perfectly and give me hours of great gaming despite being over 15 years old. Plus those little credit card looking cartridges kicked SO much ass. Now I\'ve see NES\'s that are still running.. but I\'ve yet to see one that you didn\'t have to jam the cartridge into the base over and over and over again, then have to hit to reset button continuously for half an hour to get working.

My PSX is my second best console, since it\'s the only other console I\'ve owned that\'s made it though a full generation of gaming, going on two or more, without crapping out on me. (Despite being treated worse than almost all of my previous consoles combined). Sure it sounds like hell with all that grinding noise and I have to turn it up on it\'s side in order to get the games to load properly... but I just see that as practicing getting used to the PS2\'s vertical position. Actually it\'s no bad for a CD based system.. I have never gotten my Diskmans to last nearly that long. Overheating??? Never.. When I first got FFVII I didn\'t have a Mem card.. so I left my PSX running for about two weeks streight until I finished. I still leave it on for days at a time when I pause a game to go do something and then forget it\'s still running.

Sega Dreamcast by far is my favorite console.

By far, the best one is... ummmm, many of them!

1. The Genesis with all of it\'s add-ons. That sucked up much of my time as a kid!

2. Dreamcast - who could ask for more? Online play with PSO alone puts it up there!

3. Saturn - import, import, import, oh yeah, and ONLINE PLAY!! oh yeah! got my NetLink back up, anyone else got one of those? we could play sometime!

4. SNES - ahh, good times with Mario Kart and "The Singles" soundtrack! also Chrono Trigger and Mario World!

5. SMS - Spanked the NES out of the sky, especially when you factor in graphics and imports! Phantasy Star, Rastan, Sonic, RC Grand Prix! ahh good times!

6. PSX - by no means a slouch,t he first 2 years were awesome! Assault Rigs, Twisted Metal 1 and 2, Alien Trilogy, Resident Evil, and Tomb Raider!

7. Game Gear - Shinobi 2: The Silent Fury! OH YEAH!

8. Atari 2600 - the first console i remember playing, ahhh the memories!

9. Game Boy -  still got mine somewhere. Tetris and Mario Land were great! This was of course, pre kiddy-stage!

10. NES -  had great games! Fell hard, like PSX, to shoddy manfacturing!

Those be my top ten, yo!

I\'ve got a few NES\' and some of them have issues some don\'t. I have one still in the box, still in all of it\'s plastic. So someday when my other two die I can open that one up. Or sell it. There was one that went for over $300 on EBAY the other day.

I\'d have to say I like my PSX the best. Tons and tons of groovy games. My SNES is a good second... mmm, Castlevania IV, Axelay, F-Zero. Yum. Also my MegaDrive kicks major butt. Sonics \'n\' all. Yum.

Snes and Genesis

The SNES is my old school favorite because of all the memories it brings back. I was too young(12-13?) to really apreciate it for what it was. Right now my favorite is the Dreamcast. I hate that they are going to stop making it. It pisses me off that people don\'t recognise a good console when they see one. I may hurt someone if I have to buy a new console to play Shenmue 3, 4, etc. Eventhough I am already going to buy them all it pisses me off to break the continuity of the Dreamcast\'s Magnum Opus.

Ah, Snes. It was the best console ever ( I mean it was as I don\'t own it anymore ). I used to play it every day 5 years. I played all kinds of classics like...

Starfox; ah, I dwell in the memory of this GREAT shoot-em-up game. Very atmospheric, very hard.

Super Mario Kart; How I used to play this with my family and friends... How fun it was shooting each other and race in those wonderful levels.. My favourite driver was Luigi and Koopa Troopa... those times... *sniff*

Super Mario World; the best Mario-game because of all its secrets and great atmosphere. And this game was hard ( for me ). I remember all the secrets I tried and found; it left a very good memory to my mind.

Flashback; I remember this game was hard and I didn\'t quite understand it ( I was terrible in english back then )... But it was good nonetheless. I used to watch this when my father played.

And the other favourite console is...

PSX.
This bringed great games like Crash Bandicoot etc. in front of me. I loved and still love the console ( as I play FFIX with it )

and last but not the least

N64.
Altho\' the expensive games and annoying cartridges, and lack of 3rd party developers, this console was my favourite when I owned it. I was so young that I loved all the games I owned. With great love I remember games such as...

Mario Kart 64; we played the 4-player game with my friends and family for 2 years and never got bored. Really great stuff. But still, this game lacked something, and lost in the competition between the Snes classic Smario kart and MK64...

Mario 64. Really great; good atmosphere, good musics, great levels; and lots of area to explore. One of my favourite games. Would still be, but N64 is sold.

And of course I love my PS2, but can\'t really say yet will it achieve the classic-status like these 3 have achieved...

PSX probably...it\'s impossible to forget all the great games that were and still are being made for it.

I agree with Joyda on that. The N64 is my favorite when it comes to multiplayer. I have had SO much fun with my friends playing everything from Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Wrestlemania 2000, WCW/NWO Revenge, Madden:D. We would have about 10-12 people all hanging out and having fun playing N64. Those were the good old days. I really miss November.
