New Imacs; Cube price lower; GeForce 3?

Jobs announced new Imac models. I must say, they don\'t look that good. Apple really needed to let the Imac finally die, then come out with something else.

Bright side? A new Cube model has been announced and price lowered on one of the older models.

Another problem with the entry level Imac/Ibooks, is the RAM. OS X will run on 64megs of RAM. But Classic "mode" needs 128 megs of RAM to run classic applications. Apple should of threw in 128 megs for an extra 10 dollars or so. But, still, you an build-to-order at http://store.apple.com.


Oh and..

Jobs also announced Mac systems will be the first to include the GeForce 3, a next-generation graphics processor developed by Nvidia Corp. Calling it the
 "most advanced graphics chip ever," Jobs said the new card has 57 million
 transistors and processes internally at 76 gigaflops.

Yeah I couldn\'t belive it when I read it this morgning.I MUST GET A GE-FORCE.3.
The new iMacs are horrible though "flower power" yukk.
But Ge-Force.3 this is big news.

I agree totally.
The cube price is also pretty big and the new options for the cube. I don\'t see this "revision" of the Imac being near as popular.

Yeah I\'d love a cube and a lcd on my desk.But I\'m saving for a TiPB (I love the thing)
If I could choose a color for the iMac it would be transparent black that would be kinda cool and a black theme for OS X.

And they lowered the Apple Cinema Display from 3999$ to 2999$.Another good reason to get a Mac.
Ohh and by the black OS X them I ment black witchets etc like the Graphite theme.

I still can\'t afford the Cinema display and won\'t be able to for along time. But in Jobs\' keynote he said Apple was going to continue and lower the price on the flat panel monitors. So who knows what the price will be 6 months from now.

Actually, I saw the color idea you mentioned on the MacWorld UBB (I think). Its a good idea. It would work great for those with Imacs.

Only problem I have with the Cube is lack of expandsion.

heh. GeForce 3 is going to rock. NVidia hasn\'t even announced when they will release the card for the "Wintel" market, I don\'t believe.

Oh and did you see the new offers on the PowerPcG4?
Standard Dual 533 G4 and even 733 G4 without the Super-drive.

Well yes lcd\'s are going get alot cheaper.Apple signed some agreement with Samsung to get lcd\'s from them very cheap (they used to get them from LG).
And cubes are just for the ppl who want something good looking on their desk.
And the GF.3 will be released for PC\'s about a month afet they are released on the Mac.
