As you know, Gamecube has a July release in Japan. That\'s when FFX will be released, and thats when the PS2 HDD will debut. I wouldn\'t be suprised if it Squashed Gamecube. Here is an interesting article

Now, I plan on importing the Gamecube.
What do you think will happen? Will PS2 previal? will Nintendo grab there huge market share like they had 7 years ago?

well i think that the Gamecube is gonna be more improtant then the HDD and FFX . and i think people will be more intrested in it becasue not evryone is gonna want FFX .

Actually, Animal Mother, what we need to remember is those polls that we\'ve all read that stated that when the Japanese were asked which system they were anticipating the most, GC was at the top by about 30%.

FFX? People have had so many of those FF\'s that by now, even though they still love them, they want a CHANGE. Another FF is another FF- talk about milking a franchise for every drop. You could say the same thing about Nintendo\'s franchises, but there is NOTHING like a Nintendo launch......it always brings revolutions.

Just you wait, goddammit.

Until Sony announces some compelling games and reasons to make the HD a must buy--it is useless. Therefor, the GC is way more important.

sonys already geared up past that , not only will they have ff10 also dark cloud, gt3, and ominushu and bouncer and  mgs2 and resident evil 4, and silent hill 2

If its mostly Nintendo owners that visited the site then its normal to have 30%saying it should be on GC.
I possibly cant think the polls are accurate or indicate to anything.
All new FFies came to PSX and now to PS2.And since then PS owners are the ones that expect FFies the most.How could PS owners vote for GC and while PS owners are so many?Simply put Nintendo fans are the ones that voted the most.
Polls like which console you would prefer to have a specific game (which is another console\'s key title) is stupid.

Japan also LOVES Mario. I doubt FFX and the HD will affect Gamecube\'s sales(that much). The Gamecube\'s sales will only be affected by how many consoles they can produce.

BTW, If the rumors of the HD price are true. Getting a gamecube might be just a little bit more expensive than getting a HD and FFX.

The HDD and FFX won\'t have any affect on the Gamecube\'s sales.  Like someone said before, there really isn\'t a reason to get a HDD yet, nothing exciting has been announced.  And FFX will sell like crazy, but it is just a game, and can\'t stop a brand new system, or even provide a speed bump for that matter.

I mean, look at what happened with DC.  Square pushed FF 8 to 9.9.99.  It had absolutely no effect on the DC\'s sales.  FF IS JUST A GAME, and it\'s not perfect by any means.

Xbox will be, but there were only RUMOURS about GameCube going to be. I highly doubt the\'ll delay in the UK where they have a respectable amount of fan support there.

I doubt it. But since there\'s a connectivity between the ultra popular GBA with NGC then that might give Nintendo an advantage. If GBA does well then so will NGC.

I agree with Jumpman, Nintendo has two things going for them, Nintendo, as usual will DOMINATE the handheld gaming area, while Sony/Nintendo battle out for console domination.
