AMD to provide the processing power for the PS.3
« on: February 26, 2001, 06:51:08 AM »
I found this interesting link on ars.
Apparently Sony has chosen AMD to provide the processing power for the PS.3.
This probly means that AMD will be supplying it\'s Hyper Transport technoligy to Sony.
If it\'s true I wonder if Toshiba will still be involved?
Well I hope it\'s true because as some of you might know I have love in my heart for AMD.

AMD rules.  This could be the edge AMD needs to jump ahead of INTEL.  PS3 vs X-box2?

I think it is WAY too early for them to be releasing any information on the PS3. The PS2 just came out in the US. Even if they are working on the PS3 keep it hush hush for a while.

Sony\'s not stupid they didn\'t announce anything while the PS2 has not even reached it\'s peak.  I don\'t think they are about to scrap the EE and GS anytime soon if you ask me.

So now your calling me a Hypocrite....  Why..??  What did I say to make me a hypocrite..??   All I said was I like AMD...  SO because of that Im a hypocrite now...  I am not partial to sony, x-baux, Gc, etc, etc, etc, etc....  I don\'t get involved in the threads debating which one is better.

I think you need to go punk out somewhere else and watch what you say to people... :D

When you show your name mentioned in my post you can then start to talk.  I used the word \'you\' as an arbitrary person! It was for the people who made the argument against the Xbox that PIII was an off the shelf PC part and that it couldn\'t stack up to the GS and EE. And by the way that is true the PIII does not stack up against the EE and GS.

You need to stop taking these posts as a personal attack.  Which leads me to another question....why would you take it so personally?  If I didn\'t make those kind of comments that I had mentioned I would pay no mind to them yet you take them so personally. Why? Makes me believe you did say them. Oh well, have a nice day sorry you felt that way.

There is two thing this can be

1.Sony is partnering with AMD the co-develop the EE2/EE3
or
2.Sony is letting AMD manufacture the EE2/EE3 when completed

MC is having an INTEL Pentium in XBOX.The same as the PC\'s.
AMD will help Sony by providing the processing power for the PS3.Do you anywhere read they are going to have an AMD processor in EE2?NO!!That makes the BIG difference.

And we take so personally WHAT?
