Dark Alliance will take full advantage of the PS2\'s superior sound capabilities. The game will use Dolby Digital sound, and it will feature comprehensive voice acting for each character and a completely original soundtrack. All of the text in the game will be spoken to you, and each character will actually speak his or her dialogue. Wenches will have sultry but husky voices, tavern-goers will be happy and drunk, and shopkeepers will describe their items and hock their wares as you scroll through the purchase list. All the characters will speak through the in-game engine, and Snowblind Studios is currently working on making the mouths synch with the dialogue

Couldn\'t resist

I cannot wait to play this one

I dont blame you at all. Actually, im glad we have new info.

If its worth mentioning, i\'ve downloaded the movie from IGN several times. Why I dont just save it to the hard drive, I dont really know. I like the movie alot. Its nice and smooth.

Baldur Gate series is RPG based off 3rd edition Advanced Dungeon and Dragons rules

The Baldurs Gate series on the PC is one of the best PC RPG series around and this game Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance is a whole new story and a brand new game engine designed from the ground for the PS2

This game is going to rock. Can\'t wait

mmmmmmmh.......looking tasty, Man! those screens really show off ps2s power. Look at the first screen which shows of ps2s amazing lighting and polygon rendering. The second screen has a REAL look in tree, not just some stupid brach with a cardboard texture stuck onto it!. And look at the curves, they put q3 to shame!!..nice particel and water effects too!!...The most amazing part is tbat this is done by a SMALL developer, Imagine what big ones such as konami and sega can do!! ;)

..oh...It also uses FSAA! ;)

The overall look reminds me a bit of Vampire-Redemption.The 1st and 3rd pic look almost like the dungeons of that game.
This is one of the games I want the most.Too bad we always have to wait for the good ones.

I wanna cast Magic Missles... :D

Everything I\'ve seen looks superb so far.. expecially for a game this early in development, and comming from a group of PC programmers. My only ***** is that the game is using D&D 3rd edition and not AD&D 2nd Edition rules. I just don\'t care for the 3rd edition for some reason, and I don\'t have the time or money to update all my campaign books. Hell, I still run some of the older campaigns like Ravenloft, Al-Qadim, and SpellJammers as well as Greyhawk, Dark Sun, Forgotten Realms, and a little bit of Planescape to tie them all together. Oh well, I guess I\'ll just have to get used to them for this game.

Does anyone know if the main character is customiseable? Can you choose it\'s Sex, Race, Age, Appearance, Weapon choices.. ect, or do you just get stuck playing as one predesigned ego?

Yes this is exactly what we need. I couldn\'t be more excited, in fact the only Adventure RPG I\'ve played for the PS2 is the Summoner, so what the hell was mentality behind this comment.
