LOTS to mention

Zelda 2: Adventures of Link
Super Mario Bros. 3
Double Dragon 2
TMNT 2
Zelda 3: A link to the past
Donkey Kong Country
Super Metroid
Secret of Mana
Street Fighter 2
Starfox
Zelda: ocarina of time
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Zelda MM
Turok 2
WWF wrestlemania
Super Mario 64
Waverace
FF7
FF9
Resident Evil 1
Vagrant Story
Wipeout 2097
Wipeout... damn, all 4 wipeouts
Coolboarders 2
Tekken 2
Soul Blade

I can\'t think of anymore right now, but they\'re the ones on the consoles I\'ve owned in the past that I\'ve really enjoyed.

Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

Nothing can still touch the perfection that accompanies

XENOGEARS (PS)

Except of course the game "Project X"  for PS2 has the potential to out do Xenogears.  The story better be just as deep and complex and amazing as Xenogears was or this game won\'t match it.

People, PSX,Saturn, and N64 DO NOT count as old system. If they do then that is just stupid.

NES:
SMB1-3(3 being the best)
FF1
Dragon Quest
Metroid
KID IRACUS
MegaMan1-3(3 being the best)
Kirby
Zelda1-2(1 being better)

SNES-
Super Mario World(best platform game ever)
The FF series(4 being the best)
CHRONO TRIGGER
Mario Paint
Mario Kart
Yoshi\'s Island(Mario Land 2)
Super Metroid
Dr.Mario
Super Mario RPG
NHL96
NBA Jam
MegaManX
DKC1-3(1 being the best)
Mario All Stars
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past(best game ever)

IMO,SMS and Genesis arn\'t worthy of a mention.

politiepet,

Yes, I do believe Midnight Resistance was a rip-off of Contra, but it still was a bloody good game. I didn\'t have an Amiga (I had an Atari ST 1024KB) but I used to go over to my mate\'s house and play all the time.

Ok, Top 10 games on \'old\' (I guess pre-PSX, and non PC games)

1. Player Manager (Atari ST)
2. KickOff 2 (Atari ST)
3. Street Fighter 2 Turbo (SNES)
4. Double Dragon (Spectrum 48K)
5. Super Mario World (SNES)
6. Streets of Rage 2 (Megadrive/Genesis)
7. Super Tennis (SNES)
8. Legend of the Mystical Ninja (SNES)
9. Gauntlet (Amstrad)
10. Ikari Warriors (Amstrad)

Other notables; Green Beret (Spectrum), Operation Wolf (Spectrum), TMNT:Fall of the Footclan (Gameboy), and Madden \'93 (Megadrive/Genesis)

There are a ton more, and appart from the first two, I\'m not sure of the order. Man, I wish I hadn\'t of given away my Spectrum when I left England. :(

I guess you people have no recollection of a little gem called:

Xexyz (Is that how it was spelled??? Don\'t even know how to pronounce it.)/NES

Vendetta/Konami - THIS GAME BLOWS FINAL FIGHT AWAY!!! 4-player beat-em-up, hilarious action, I was laughing so much, I couldn\'t concentrate.

Pro Wrestling/NES - How could you not mention this??? Classic NES gaming. Better than ANY wrestling game out there.

Thunderforce 3/Genesis - Awesome shooter. Too bad it was only 1-player. Beatiful graphics.

Blaster Master/NES - Wow, this game was truly impressive. Great graphics, great tunes, long, long quest. If you didn\'t know your way around, you were in for a looooong night. Too bad there was no save feature.

Wonder Boy In Monster Land/SMS - Cool Adventure/RPG. One of the SMS\'s gems.

Aliens Vs Predator/Capcom - WOW!!! Never has a movie been done justice like Capcom did with this license. If only it was released for a home console. I would buy it for this game alone.

Forgotten Worlds/Genesis - 2-player shooter, beautiful graphics, cool enemies.

Tetris/NES (Tengen Version) - Enough said.

How many of you wet your pants upon reading this list? Be honest.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

More games I forgot earlier (as well as a shameless bump):

Narc (arcade)--this game absolutely kicked ass when it came out.  Bloody as hell, released in the height of the War on Drugs and the DARE movement, you were a cop busting drug scum; enemies actually threw syringes at you--a little ridiculous now, but awesome when I was 10 or 12 or whatever.

Assault (arcade)--a tank combat game, but with great 2-stick control.  Set in the future, your tank could roll around, and even had a levitation/smart bomb kind of attack.

Gotta agree with whoever put up Thunder Force 3; playing this game with headphones on was a definite mind-blowing experience.  Perhaps some of the best video game sound ever.

Defender (Atari 2600)--Old school as hell, but this game was a waste of so many hours of my misspent youth that it has to be included.

I know I keep bending my own rules by posting arcade games here, but it\'s my thread, so I can do whatever I want, right?
