http://www.gamers.com/news/1007970Set to debut on the PlayStation 2 before the Birdman (Tony Hawk) arrives on any next-generation platform, ESPN X Games Skateboarding promises to be the best skateboarder on the PlayStation 2 for at least a couple months (if not a whole lot longer if it can dethrone the king). Konami\'s extreme entry will hit the PlayStation 2 in August of 2001 and will feature everything you expect from a skateboarding game: three tournament stages based on the 2000 X Games in San Francisco, six action stages in a variety of locations, eight skaters, a practice mode, two-player split-screen, 64 skateboards each with its own unique stats, and of course, the requisite funky/hip/alternative soundtrack.
Until the game comes out or until we get a preview copy, satisfy yourself with these screens (of which at least two are renders...we\'ll let you decide which ones are real).
