Ryu read here (and everyone else who is interested about Onimusha)

Hey man, just wondering if you got it and if so will you be giving us one of your reviews? unless I missed it out in the Main Forum of course.

Everyone else, did you guys get it and what do ya think?
I just got it and even though i\'ve only been playing for a few minutes I must say...wow. One truly entertaining game, as soon as I get more time in with it i\'ll come back and post my quickie of a review. But if you guys got it give me your opnions on what you think of it?

I have a feeling there are a lot of very happy PS2 owners  today when they put this puppy in the CD tray

Ok this is my impression from what I have so far played.

GRAPHICS
Well, for starters half the time I was walking around I was simply in awe at what I saw. An example of this is during the start of the game when your playing with Samanosuke you go through this one door and start running across what appears to be a small bridge of some sorts. The camera quickly changes its view and you see yourself on the bridge with a gorgeous sunset in the background, as you look into the shallow water beneath you see dead bodies of soldiers strung throughout the water and as they bleed there blood flows at the same pace the current does. All gorgeous with the setting sun reflecting off the water. I was stunned when I saw simply how beautiful it looked.

CONTROLS
So far the controls appear to be fluent although for some reason I can\'t use the analog sticks which I would of preferred but the D-Pad is no slouch and has quick responsive attack commands and are top notch in my book despite a few problems. But mind you I did say few and they can be overlooked

GAMEPLAY
I found this form of gameplay to be great, you can spin around and stop an attack from behind while moving into a blocking position to save yourself from one of the many threats, also once again it is very fluent and goes well with the overall style of the game. The only thing that hurts it is sometimes you\'ll fall victim to shoddy camera work. Now although it isn\'t too bad it does require the skill to move out of a pack of enemies to get a clearer view at time.

SOUND
Top notch sound here, the orchestra music fits perfectly in with the game and all the sounds you would expect to hear are there in full force and its truly a great thing. The overall tone on your ears is very pleasing and not a thing should seem out of place when you hear noises. Although at times in the CG movies the mouth does not move well with the characters voice. But that’s more of a design problem rather then sound. The voice acting is decent and easy to understand so you shouldn\'t have any problems understanding it. And if you do there\'s sub-title text so you can read along if for any reason you don\'t understand the characters.

LASTING APPEAL
I\'ll tell you when I beat it:)

so as an overall score I give the game a
9 out 10
minus one point for less then perfect camera angles and I really wanted the analog sticks

I bought it and beat it.  Finished it in under 4 hours (it took 7 though because i had to take breaks and I got my ass kicked on the last boss a few times) but the review will be up soon.  Just keep watching the boards

By the way, on an un-related question. Does anyone have an idea as to how long ZOE is?

Nevermind, all for the better now.  Gamesnext just told me they want me to shorten my reviews for posts to a minumum in order to diferentiate the two.  So much for quality AND quantity, hehe.  The review will be up in an hour or so.

Don\'t rub it in...I want this game...but im HOLDING off until ZOE comes out...or should i check it  out?

I would say check it out because you know it will not be a dissapointment. I don\'t think Z.O.E. will either but we have not played it yet, if oyu have enough money for both I say snag both.

but so far i\'m trying to find things wrong with Onimusha, as of now I can\'t find hardly any at all. And the most important thing it does is entertain you, games are to be entertaining and Onimusha does that extremely well.

Big problem: Playing as the chick. It is extremely boring with her, as the combat just isn\'t nearly as fun. Just my opinion.

damn, ok i\'m sorry I forgot about Kadea.

She is very annoying indeed...she can\'t take souls/shes not strong/shes probably a lesbian (which would be kinda cool but not when i\'m fighting demons)/ she is EXTREMELY WEAK.

All I do with her is grab the items she can and start dodging all the demons until I get THE man Samanosuke. And I mean THE MAN, I think he is one sweet character.

By the way notice how they didn\'t fix the japanese voices whe they put the english text in? At the end when I go to fight Fortinbras he says something and keeps talking then says his next line...kind of gay but I can deal with it.
