yea thats where i think it is overrated too much

people consider it the best game ever when to me there really isn\'t much of a purpose to the game but score high pionts

i mean to consider this game to be as great as say FFIX or MGS or something around that line is ridiculous - but it is a really cool game though

I highly agree..the game might be overrated..and there is way more to it then score high points...you have to pull of certain tasks to earn tapes in the first one...in the second you you perform certain tasks for cash...Spider man is in the game....

Let me tell you why THPS/2 are sometimes called the best games on the PSX.

- These games have great graphics.

- They have awesome gameplay

- The soundtracks are probably some of the best ever.(Something for everyone)

- And they have incredible replay value.

Some of your favorite games may match some of those categories, but not all. Which is why they rate THPS so highly. Plus any schmoe of the street can just pick up THPS and enjoy himself. The same can not be said for MGS and FF.

THPS2 made me buy a PS2

I have to say the THPS2 made the decision for me to enter console gaming and purchase a PS2!!!

One day last year while cruising through Fry\'s electronics I came a across a PSOne demo with THPS2. Being an old school skateboarder I gave it a try, WOW I was instantly hooked. I decided then and there I wanted a console. So I started researching and learned of the PS2 launch on Oct. 26. Well I finally got my PS2 last month (slim supply in silicon valley), and now my my question for all of you THPS fans is...

is it worth it to buy THPS2 now and still get THPS3? Or will I not want to play THPS2 when THPS3 comes out?

JDY, i played both and i thought that they were the buisness. Honestly, if you can look through the pixelated
graphics there is one hell of a challenge in both games. I will say that both games are thoroughly playable and
i totally enjoyed both. go out and pick \'em up, even cheaper if you can find them 2nd hand. also, dont forget
that the PS2 will smooth out the pixels a little bit.

You Damn right....The first Tony Hawk game is the best....always will be...until Tony hawk online comes out...No i don\'t give 2 ****s about the Xbox version...its pratcially out for PC..its called Tony hawk 2 PC version...

I LOVED THPS2\'s soundtrack. It was one of the best game soundtracks ever. IMO :D

I have Tony Hawk 1 but my nephew has part 2:D.  I loved the soundtrack in the first one.  Expecially "Superman" I love that song.  I downloaded just so I can listen to it everyday then I just bought the CD.  Can\'t wait for  THPS3.
