Hello!

I got a Playstation 2... It took me forever to get one, but I finally got it! Well, I was just wondering which game I should by first? There seems to be a few great games, but I wanted to ask you guys what you thought...

ps2 will get mgs,silent hill,blood omen 2 and devil may cry first. Thats all i care about for now. getting my hands on them game first. I still think xbox wil make ssome ps2 games better. Have better pc ports.I like ps2s controller the most. I will continue  my boycott till i see my online version ps2 box set. disgruntel playstation fan

I will mooch of my brother,hes buying a ps2 when he comes home in april.If there available for msrp 299.99.
Not much off a boycott.

to there are ways to give the illusion of AA,without having to take cuts in performance,and some developers are are taking advantage of themhowever ,until SOny comes up with a specific and easy ways to implement true AA that dosent take major hits on performance,you probably wont be seeing a huge number of games take advantage of it.

Well.
It depends on what kind of games you like.
If you like RPG\'s:

Summoner(some people dont like it, I love it)

If you like Action\'Adventure:

Dynasty Warriors 2
Onimusha

FPS:

Timesplitters

Strategy:

Ring of Red
Kessen

I dont know much about the fighting sports, or racing games.
So Ill leave those suggestions to those with more experiance.

Well I strongly recommend you pick up Zone of Enders which includes a 1 level demo copy of Metal Gear Solid 2 and comes out Wednesday in the US and is already out in Europe

I also strongly recommend Onimusha


All 3 are action games that all have some of the best eye candy to date for the PS2

If you tell us what kind of games you like the most we can refine our lists and give you suggestions. Everyone here is quite educated

Well, so far Kessen and Oni have looked cool to me. I\'m not really into the Doom type games, sports games, or fighting games. I like RPG\'s and Action games. Yeah, Onimusha looks cool. I like games that have levels and whatnot; I like adeventure.

Also, are the old Playstation games still cool and normal looking threw the PS2? I just bought mine and have no games! :) Do DVD\'s look great and go smoothly?

A good RPG is Summoner.
If you like action games with levels you should try out Dynasty Warriors 2.
That game is supremely cool.
Each level takes like 45 minutes.
If you have read any reviews about the game being montonous, dont believe them.
There are quite a few people on this forum who will attest to this game being awesome.
Also, defiantly look into Onimusha.
It is also very good.

Onimusha is a riot

Zone of Enders and MGS2 demo is out next week and is a must have IMO

the Summonewr is a good RPG with a great story, has some bugs in it and is not perfect technically but still fun for an RPG fan. I really enjoyed it

Starwars Starfighter was also a blast

ATV Offroad Fury was a cool renter

and SSX is another awesome PS2 title


PS1 games on the PS2 may have slight improvements but overall there still PS1 games. SOny may update those drivers in the future


DVD player works great and compares to any mid range DVD player on the markewt in quality

I shall wait for your posts in great anticipation - you don\'t seem like a fanboy.

There\'s too many great games coming out to ps2, don\'t you agree? I would like to work my own money out so I would buy as many games per year as I would want. But I can\'t, and that\'s the cold truth.

I would go for...

RPG - None yet, unless you want to get FFXI PS1 game to play on your PS2.

Fighting - Tekken Tag.

Adventure - Onimusha.

Sport - SSX is meant to be ace but I never really liked it due to the awful slow down throughout the game.

FPS - Timesplitters is meant to be good, but its not long until Red Faction comes out which should be ace.

I don\'t really rate the launch titles as such, but now the good titles are appearing, i would go for onimusha :)

I never experienced slowdown in the pAL SSX. Just get the game and have fun!
