TGS 2001: Hands-on Impressions of Ace Combat 4:
http://ps2.ign.com/news/32872.html"The most significant change between this and previous games in the series is unquestionable the game\'s visual detail. The plane models look good, albeit a bit jaggy around the edges, and the terrain is almost photo-realistic when viewed from a distance. The most impressive aspect of the visuals is without a doubt the special effects, though. The clouds look spectacular and the smoke trails from the missiles look amazingly true to life.
The only downer is that the visuals lose a lot of their realism when you get up close to the ground terrain.
While everything looks photo-realistic from a distance, the texture quality takes a drastic hit when you fly the plane close to the ground. The ground textures are a bit blurry and almost look as bad as the good textures look on the Nintendo 64. However, this is only a small problem in what is a great looking game on the whole."
Hmmmm.....
