think about it, i havent ever seen a dvd player in as small a package as the ps2, sure i know the handhelds are smaller, but thats it, nothing is smaller, and its just part of an awesome console, we have a great console in our hands, what do you guys think?

Nope, not the smallest. Sony makes smaller ones. Check in Crutchfield, there\'s one that has a screen and everything in notebook form.

He said other than the HandHeld Formats.
Thats what he meant, portable DVD players.

Do you think this is because normal dvd players have DD 5.1 decoders built into them whereas ps2\'s need an outside decoder? If this is true then obviously the decoder inside DVD machines will take more space and so are bigger!

PS2\'s DVD is made out of 2 components while normal DVD\'s are made out of 11.
They both work the same way.The difference is that 2 components mean lower cost.

Most DVD players do not have dolby digital 5.1 decoders inside.
You usually have to buy a reciever with the decoder.
Some DVD players do.
But, not many.
