I like Tekken, SC and FF. I\'m just not enamoured with them. Sega makes more good, original games per year than Square or Namco. They both make good games, but most are just sequels. Plus Sega was supporting one platform, theirs. And they were the what? 3rd/4th biggest publisher. Now w/o the costs or hardware, they will be the number 1 developer worldwide. It\'s not just my opinion, every magazine, website and industry analyst says this. EA, Nintendo and Sony will be fighting over 2nd place. Plus JGR, SC5, Shenmue, Chu Chu Rocket, and Seamen were more original (and plenty of fun) than anything out of Namco or Square in at least 5 years... yes, including the FF, Tekken, RR, SC and PE franchises. All were unoriginal (but still fun) or just sequels.

Well, if that´s so... then let´s hope they´ll do some amazing stuff for the PS2 !!!

And CVG is biased. They only editorialize the news when its anti-MS or Sega. They kiss Sony\'s ass. And thats fine, they can. Just don\'t call them unbiased. I own a PS2, PSone and a old original PS, besides having had 2 PS\'s before. I certainly dont hate Sony...

The only thing I meant to disagree with AlteredBeast on what his views on CVG. That\'s all - I didn\'t agree or disagree with the Namco/SEGA thing.

I just like the CVG site and I think you guys are giving it far to less credit. Looking at it right now there are more Xbox news than PS2 news (positive news). They just have a bit more sceptical attitude towards Xbox - which I find healty (mind you, I like Xbox so don\'t think it\'s because I \'love\' PS2 and \'hate\' Xbox). That\'s just my opinion though, but I guess I\'m allowed to \'fight\' for what I believe in, just like you guys do all the time.

Onimusha is such a bad game... Zone of the Enders is too. And who likes ATV Offroad, SSX, etc? Noone does I guess. They\'re just too damn sucky.

  Of course I have played the games, this is how I know.  Come on, don\'t be such an idiot.  I based  what I said on what I saw and what I see now.

  Sure GT3 is coming out and sure MGS2 is coming out, but those are the biggest games coming out, all the rest are average.   The games that I played on the PS2 were average titles and if it wasn\'t for the PSX, Sony would have been looking pretty bad.

  I mean this console was supposed to change the world.  It fails in its mission but there are enough people buying it because of the PSX to ofset that.

  I don\'t mean to be an ass, but some of you people are just based on pure hype, no substance and pure bias.  So when you rip other apart, remember that the PS2 would fail if it wasn\'t for PSX.

  I havent really been happy with the PS2... Its just all crap... sure it will have some good games coming eventually, but so will everyone so that point is very moot.

  Its not about Technology,Power, or most of all the games, its just about generating more money off of the PSX turned PS2.

  More money does not mean a better product.  It just means shovelware and thats what most of the titles for the PS2 have been.

  Its crap on a CD so that most of you will buy it.

So would you mind telling me exactly what games you have tried? Because there are lots of people who can tell you what FUN and great games they have tried. I myself listed some of them. So come on, enlighten us all.

You said that you are still waiting for a good game on PS2, and that really means you haven\'t really played any of the good PS2 games, which means you propably don\'t know what you are talking about. i predict you are an FPS fan who just likes to play PC games from your tone. what kinds of games do you like? ( ahh.. it\'s not worth it i know .. Dwarrior is a hopless case ).

Dwarrior, what ever type of game you like , it\'s available today in some form on PS2.  that\'s why the PS2 is really attracting the masses of people. obviosly PS2 has many  advantages over x-box/game-cube, such as 1 year ahead in the market and the success of the PSX but i like to think of it more than this:

1) tecnically i think the PS2 is more supperior than x-box. M$ has managed to make people think Mhz means everything, except that it does not. and aretecture is more important. x-box has an old arcetecture, and PS2 has a next-generation archetecture.
2) PS2 has Sony 1st party games such as GT3. can you say GT3 is a bad game?? it\'s easily the best racing game that has ever graced earth. did you bother to look at the car models?
3) PS2 has square, developing FFX, did you see the latest fotage of that game? did you download the videos? please download them and tell me your un-biazed opinuin. they say it even looks better than MGS2.
4) PS2 has Namco with Ace Combat 4, Tekkin4, Ridge Racer6, Namco Vs Sega planed as well.
5) PS2 has konami, which makes MGS2, although it\'s on the x-box as well, but the x-box is getting it after the PS2 ( at least the Japaneze version ) so it is just being ported to the x-box. same for silent hill2 it will come to PS2 first then get ported to PS2. ( x-box = port platform nothing more ).
6) PS2 has Sega, developing Virtua fighter 4, did you see the aracde version of VF3? VF4 is even better on PS2.
7) PS2 has already 10 M market share. the only reason people are developing games for the x-box now is because M$ is really bribing them to do so, but they would prefer to be focusing on the more successfull PS2 platform.
8) by march 2002 PS2 will have 20M units , how can X-box then be competing with that? how can x-box sell more games if they have less systems on the market? it is not possible. PS2 can only increase, people who think PS2 would die like the dreamcast or saturn are just nuts!! it\'s not going to hapen, stop dreaming. but if you think x-box can do a good job and come second place or third place after nintindo with a decent market share then i say this is realistic, but not to own the gaming market.. this is if the x-box is not going to fail misrably in 2002 and die in shame.

      Most of the games on the PS2 lack substance.  Thats a fact.  Its all a thing to make more money and you are being sucked just like most on this board.  Why do you think they even come out with the same games just with a few changes, to make a million seller.  Come on kid open your eyes.

RRV (Ridge Racer IV remake)
TTT (Tekken 3 remake)
Madden 2001 (Dreamcast with helmet reflections)
Kessen (blocky as all hell)
ZOE demo (repetitive - boring)
SSX (The DC could have pulled this off)
The Bouncer (only for a few mins)

Onimusha I was impressed at first at the graphics, but my friend told me that they were pre-rendered. ugggh!  I expect more from a revolution.  The game was fun at first but began to get old.

But come on, "SSX (DC could pull that off)" - and so what? It hasn\'t and the game is still fun nontheless. That\'s what matters (but the game is pretty impressive on it\'s own IMO).

I wasn\'t too surprised by your other opinions as well. A man of your level and with as much hatred for a company wouldn\'t have the balls to admit that it might actually be alright. But then again, do I care? Hell no.

But two can play this game. When Xbox comes out PS2 fanboys will say "Amped? SSX ripoff and it wasn\'t even fun", "Halo sucks ass, it was SO boring" etc. It\'s a typical sign of all weak fanboys.

DOA3 will make it on to the PS2

DOA2:HC is still selling and was one ofthe main games for launch and after in the UK.

hey it\'s MS fanboys should realy worry about is the P*** Poor performence by MS at the TGS Show, DOA3 was the only game to make any kind of impression with the Staff at IGN.

And even though Sony where only showing the known line up, they still managed to stell the show with just new FF 10 and Silent Hill 2 screens and movies.

And It may very well come over to PS2, but it\'ll look worse (don\'t believe me? Look at Quake, UT, Crazy Taxi and DoA2:LE on DC... if PS2 can\'t out perform DC in ports, it can\'t out due XB), and come out later.... so it\'s still a big deal for gamers thinking of getting a XB.
