Any one else slightly disappointed with ZOE?
« on: March 30, 2001, 02:10:32 PM »
I know I was.  The graphics are unreal, the gameplay is amazing, controls are wondeful and the story is interesting....but, is it just me or are there only 2 types of robots in the game!? There is the fat slow one and the skinny weak one with lightsaber hands. The bosses look great too, but I\'m not fighting them %90 of the time. Couldnt Konami put a more enemy types in the game? Right now I would rate it at a 7/10, but if it was just a tad bit more diveresed It could have been a 9/10.

But the MGS2 demo made up for that, thank god. Post your thought below.

Yes more frames would have been a welcome addition, heh, I actually found myself half expecting to be disappointed by this title after seeing some less than convincing reviews - turns out I feel its probably one of the best PS2 titles out at the moment.

I knew exactly what to expect and it matched expectations for me.

Defiently could\'ve been improved some. The final fights we\'re easier then the 3 boss battles earlier in the game

a few diferent kind of baddies would\'ve spiced things up,

Control was innovative but the repetitive battles between boss fights we\'re pretty much the same thing over and over again.

my disspaointment lies in the story. Very cookie cutter and generic. Somehow it wasn\'t involving enough.

Still a cool game IMO but I understand why if got Famitsu silver

Great graphics! Great control! Great gameplay! But.... Umm... I can\'t put my finger on it. Something doesn\'t feel right. More diverse enemies would\'ve been nice...but..I know now. I think it gets just a tad bit repetitive. I don\'t know. Maybe it hasn\'t grown on me yet.

I haven\'t played it yet. I\'ve only spent an hour with the MGS2 demo cause I\'ve been working so much. I\'ll spend some quality time with it this weekend.

but i got a bad ranking

and i haven\'t tried to play it again but i think the game is cool

except the fighting and enemies are a little repetitive - i still found it quite enjoyable though

Actually Z.O.E\'s got 3 different enemies. Two slightly different humanoid bots and the third one with the shield.

Anyways, I was disappointed with the game. It\'s quite repetitive and the story wasn\'t nearly as good as it could\'ve been. Also, the in-game musics were more often than not, horrible. They suit the action maybe, but not my tastes.

It isn\'t a bad game, but not a great game either. I\'d say it was just good enough to justify the purchase (MGS2 demo... yum).

Yeah Zoe is a bit less good imo... , but I expected that so probl for me, I\'m just glad with the demo.
I used to have a pc game called Scorched planet which
was awsome in gameplay. You had to resque ppl from
aliens called Voraxions. The vehicle could transform from
tank to jet. You had to use the behaviour ( read default AI ) of civillians, soldiers and ppl turned zombie.
This game had alo gameplay factors to consider which gave real deep gameplay. I think Zoe should have something like that as well, shame it proved to be a bit shallow.

It wasn\'t that bad to me.  It could\'ve had more but I did like it.  I try not to get hyped about games anymore.  It just leads to dissappointment.

Besdies the end wsa left open for a sequel that could be much improved.
Like mech games?  From Armored Core to Frame Gride.  Gundam to Zero Divide.  Come to Mech Madness.

I\'m totally dissapointed with the game. It is way to repetive for me and not enough enemies. I went and got it Thursday, along with Street Fighter EX 3 , Super Street Puzzle Fighter Turbo (PSone), Street Fighter Collection (Psone) and each one of them was more fun, IMO. Not to mention the voice acting was terrible and the story was boring.

Blah. Big letdown for me.
And I hate the MGS series, so MGS2 did not impress me gameplay wise. Tho, the graphics was ultra-sweet.
I\'m sure my friend is at home playing the MGS2 demo to death--as I gave it to him.

I was also disappointed with the game, especially so since the import version is not import-friendly and the action is repetitive. I had more fun with AC2 than with ZOE.

"Get your a$$ to Mars". That aside it could have used a little more. The story was the basic fight then change areas and do it again. Did not really care about the charaters. Result a fun shooter and slicer.
