Review: Resident Evil: Code Veronica X !
« on: April 04, 2001, 09:51:01 AM »
Overall Gameplay -- 9.25 / 10

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X is possibly the best PS2 game out. Even though the new additions are limited, Code Veronica X rocks the house; even without the Devil May Cry demo. If you’re getting Code Veronica X to play a good game or purely just for the Devil May Cry demo, you’re winning either way....

Awesome thanks dude. The controls have me a little worried but maybe they will be able to iron hat out before its release. On a side note does anybody know when this game releases in North America.

Well, Gamespot says it will be out in July. But we all know that date will probably change at least a couple times before then.

Whats the big obsession with RE about. Don\'t you people find them tedious? Especialy with RE-CV, Always backtracking and can we say Hard? Close to imposible I say. However, Devil May Cry looks more my style. Can\'t wait for it.

Well, difficulty is a good thing to me.  It resembles more of the  2D games that relied more on skill, than button mashing.  So for me, if a game has difficulty, then I\'m definately buying it.

Also, the only drawback to me with RE is that you always have to have a save point, and you can\'t take EVERYTHING that you find with you... of course you do find a lot of stuff, but if it is something very small, then they should let you take it.

The RE just has that scary action movie feel to it.  It took me a little while to get used to the controls, but it isn\'t a big deal to me.

Tetrad, I don\'t find RE tedious.  Sure, you have to go back and get stuff sometimes, but it isn\'t that big of a deal to make you not like the game.  Well, I guess I don\'t consider it tedious because I\'ve played most of RARE\'s platformers ;).  If you want a true tedious game, then get DK64.
It seems as if the people [casual gamers] that we consider to know absolutely nothing are the ones that actually know the most important thing: Name brands don\'t make the console, games do.

Resident Evil is hard? Near impossible? No way. Code Veronica was actually rather easy. The first Resident Evil was the hardest, since then they have gotten alot easier. Yes, there is alot of backtracking and sometimes having to think ahead about your situation (i.e, limited saves, saving in the incorrect spot, using all the good ammo before a boss).

Resident Evil is awesome, in my opinion it was the first game to show what a 32-bit system could really do both graphics and gameplay wise.

I\'m with EL, though, if it has difficulty it reminds me of the 2D days where it was all about skill.

I love the Resident Evil games. I just find blowing up zombies fun. As for hard factor, after playing the first one, the more recent Resident Evils weren\'t that hard, really. But they weren\'t super easy either. It took me a while to finish RE3 on, of all things, Easy. Then again, its also been some time since I played RE2 and RE3 so, that could explain it.

Can\'t wait for RE:CV X not only to finally play this game, but to also play Devil May Cry demo! :D
Opinions are not important.

I think that the controls are not a problem, if you never played a resident evil game (shame on you!!) they are tough at the begining. If you are that worried about the controls for the game, go buy RE1 for PSone for about $9.99 brand new and practice till July!!!

RE is god.

Ok its god next to Metal Gear, Counter-Strike, StarCraft, Diablo 2, and a bunch more games.

But despite the horrible voice acting and sometimes cheesy (um, can\'t think of the word), RE is a great game that just captures that horror feel and can sometimes really scare the hell out of you.

I think Resident Evil: Code Veronica was the best of the RE sreies.  It is a great game and I really like the story put to it, it really further expounded on the back history and origin of Umbrella and made the RE universe so much more deeper.

This new Code Veronica is going to be better then the DC version I guess for just a little bit more story put to it.  I like that.  I won\'t buy it since i already own it for my Dreamcast, but I\'ll definitely rent it just for the extra story tid-bit.

If you are a RE fan and have never played Code Veronica on the DC then I urge you to purchase this game the day it\'s released for PS2.  It is the best RE ever, the longest too.  I still thought RE1 scared me the most of them all though.  I guess I was never exposed to game that actually could scare me before.  Cool...

Dude, you and I think very much alike.

We both rank Capcom as #1.

We both love Resident Evil.

We both think RE is not that hard.

We both rank the Street Fighter fighters as the cream of the crop, among fighters.

Scary, no? :P
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
