You have seen the future of Videogames?
Sony are still selling PSone,PS2 will have a huge success(more than PSX - my opinion) ! ...and Sony, IBM, Toshiba have pooled together $400 million to design a next gen CPU for multimedia/Breoadband applications and it\'s the monster chip that will be in PS3!
Little Man I\'m sorry for you but Sony will be "in the future" ...and stronger than ever :D

(If you can see no further than the end of your nose how can you see the Future? :D)

In fact and you should of heard this yourself, IBM, Toshiba , and SOny have pooled together $400 million to design a next gen CPU for multimedia/Breoadband applications  and thats the chip that will be in PS3. It will be a hybrid of the EE with IBM technoligies mixed in and EE technologies improved

Oh.... I just thought that AMD was one of the companys put together. :D

Rasputin,

We know that games is what makes a system successful. That\'s not the point of this thread. It\'s about Sony\'s innovation and it got an award for it. That\'s all. Not one of us said anything about Sony being the best console system or anything like that.

It was an interesting topic, that\'s all. But you brought in a different topic altogether. Tell us something we don\'t know next time.

Sony Haters just cant accept anything good that has to do with PS2.
Like in this thread were the GS got an award they started bashing PS2 and talk all the BS they want about the GS.Simply because GS is a PS2 chip.
And the thread only refers to the GS.But noooo.AMD,GForce and Pentium are PC chips.Similar to Xbox\'s.

I think AMD may be involved in the EE2, not the next GS.

Just as Toshiba was involved in the EE, now Sony may be partnering with AMD to develop EE2. I may be mistaken, but I think I read that somewhere a few months back.

I now why.this is a bunch of pr bs. good job sony pr.they are the best.

Its comparing for 2000. geforce 3 wasn\'t in 2000.

This, folks, is a complete example of what a moron would post. Applaud for yourself jaggies, you get my nomination for idiocy. Go spend $400-500 on a overrated GeForce 3.

Rasputin, wow, so you saw the future? You have that capability and you spend time here on this forum? We are truly blessed. What will the winning lottery numbers be for Miami this Saturday? C\'mon man, share the power.

I hope you realize how stupid this quote is Rasputin

SOny has a ton of 1st party games you haven\'t even seen yet.

ATV offroad fury is one that IMO is pretty damn sweet

GT3 is a masterpiece. ans will be here shortly

Dark Cloud and Extermination have bith receinve Famitsu silver, and both games are getting significant US and UK upgrades

The Getaway, Wipeout Fusion, and Dropship all look PHAT

Drakan, Naughty DOg offering, Insomniac Offering, and Verant Interactive offering have yet to be revealed, and SOny still has about dozen 1st party games that have yet to be shown off.

and aboutr your very very very naive 3rd party comment, sure GC and Xbox are signing 3rd parties, that doesn\'t mean 3rd parties are not developing PS2 projects, in fact the majority of 3rd parties are developing a ratio of 3:1 PS2 projects to XBox or GC projects

You really need to get a clue son

NO it won\'t

there was only 1 rumored report of AMD working with SOny and not a single official press release on this

With IBM, Toshiba and SOny already officially announcing a joint CPU project its obvious the AMD thing is Bull****

Trust me AMD is not doing a thing with Sony,

Heh hey I posted the first thread about the possible Sony AMD relationship.
Anyway\'s I myself thought it would have been cool as hell to have AMD doing the chips. Not just taking a standard Tbird or Palomino or something, but a completly new chip designed by AMD.
But that rumor got forgotten (as far as I new,I thought most of you guys had forgotten)
Anyway I was happy when I heard about the deal between Sony,IBM and Toshiba, since IBM is my favourite CPU designer along with AMD (I lost respect for Motorola after they didn\'t work on the G4 for 18 months).

But did only the GS get awarded, not the EE???
I recently discovered that my ass is the key to the universe.....now I must fight to protect my ass from those who might abuse it!!!

Even though I did not understand much of it, it is kinda wierd that a video gaming system actually gets an award.

Does not matter who won what...
the only thing that matters is which processor
has the most bang-for-the-buck.

I think the PS2 CPU is ok, but i think that
the next version of that CPU might really shine,
too bad it won\'t be implemented until 2005 at the
earliest if ever.
