If you travel as much as you say you do then you obviously don\'t have time for 4 consoles, or you obviously have money to burn and could care less if you got value out of all 4 systems, which backs up my point even more since the reality of most is the fact they don\'t have the time or available extra cash to buy 4 platforms and balance lifes necessities and the more important things in life.

Myself I barely play videogames on weekends, WHY, cause my wife works 1st shift I work 2nd so I cherish our time together. Not to mention the other **** I like to do in my life beyond the TV screen.

I\'m not a snob... when I\'m in my hometown I do a lot of charity work, In fact, some of my travelling is charity related (I was a member of Green Peace too for a couple of years). I have a abused woman who needed to leave her husband living in my house, because she\'s also pregnant. I also lived in the inner city for most of my childhood.

I find time to play every system, and any game that holds my interest.

I like being pessimistic, how overtly pessimistic I am is debatable.

My wife and I make a little over $80,000 a year

I however have child support payments, Student Loan payments, Car payments, Mortgage, Utilities, home improvement bills, and about $2000 a year in Plane tickets to bring my step-son out to visit us in Washington

This doesn\'t include hobbie stuff, retirement invensting, and savings.

I believe my situation is on par with normal everyday middleclass persons. I would not have enough time to enjoy or get value out of 4 systems, and I am still debating if its worth it for me to get a 2nd or just upgrade my PC.

Obvioulsy you have alot more free cash then the next guy, but even so I feel there is so much more to life then playing 4 consoles worth of video games and PC games as well. I love the hobby, but IMO a line needs to be draws and sacrafices made to obtain a godd balance of mind sucking video entertainment and just good ole quality time

Great articule we need more videogame fans not fanboyys. ddaryl my man having four consoles if you would concider the possibilities makes for better gaming. Since 88% of all games on each console might not appeal to hardcore gamers leaving 12% of the games on each worthy of purchase and realizing the cost of a console in the case of PS2 equals 5 games or so if you bought them new. In other words the purchase of games far exceeds the price of a console in the long run. And not everything(game) is avaliable for rent. To explain, why would I own one console and be desparate buying games I will not enjoy just to play something when only 12% to 20% of those games really appeal to me. Whereas if I had three platforms and took the best of those and not waste my money buying games just to have somthing to play my gaming experience would be enhanced. I see it everyday people owning one console wishing or waiting to play games on another platform(many wish they had a high end PC) buying games they wont really like just to play somthing. Right now many desparate PS2 fans wander through the store willing to try any new pS2 game that comes in and many of those games they do not like but they need something to feed this new black box... This also was DC fans when the machine first came out and I would suspect that X-box and NGC fans will go through this. This leaves many gamers missing out on some great gaming because of thier bias or pocketbook. What I am saying is this ,once you have the platforms your gaming tastes will rise and only the best of the best will appeal to you thus saving money and only playing the games that rate the highest with the limited gaming time you have. I hope that made some kind of sense please excuse my rambling.

No way you can do that and actually participate in other factions of life.

Enjoying all may not be a bad thing, if it means you\'re going to friend\'s houses and trying out their games on the consoles you don\'t have. It doesn\'t neccessarily mean you actually purchase all four of them.

I would like to buy every console, but it\'s simply too expensive. I could do this, but I don\'t play them enough to make it worth the money spent. I spend more time discussing consoles and visiting/moderating message boards about them than I do playing them.

I\'ll probably do like I did with PSX with both Xbox and Gamecube--wait until they\'ve been out for a while and are incredibly inexpensive to buy them.

But I\'m not simply telling them all off, saying I\'ll never buy one because it sucks. I may never buy one because I don\'t have the money, but none of them are bad.

The emails ppl sent and the responses Brandon gave them were quite amusing.

The absolute most hilarious of these emails would have to be this one:

Welp Jiggs by Xmas this year I will have no trouble finding many very worthy PS2 games and I already have played a few to date

I still stand by my opinion, no one has adequate time to play all the great and fun games on all 4 consoles.

Sure you argument has its points, but I don\'t play that many games cause I don\'t have the time so I can easily keep myself entertained with 2 consoles. and when I do have time in betwen games and so far since Feburary there has been little time for me between games I have alot of other stuff to do so having 2 more consoles would be of no use
