Gohan and ddaryl: I wasn\'t comparing America to any other country, I was bashing it on it\'s own grounds. America is a ignorant country. Period. The education system isn\'t ran well period, children are NOT overworked by meaningful things, their overwhelmed by bull**** baby boomer parents with a million activities after school that are anything but educational and other things that side track students from actually learning. Parents need to deal with their kids and teach them things prior to going to school, and no, yuppie preschool doesn\'t count.
Everyone\'s failing finals in a certain subject? They (usually) make it easier the next year. Kids have NO sense of responsibility, and authority figures that traditionally put them in their place, like teachers and parents, either have their hands tied because of bull**** children\'s rights laws and fear of being sued, or they\'re lazy. I think we should ELIMINATE summer vacation, spring break, add a hour to every school day, and have school on Saturdays. Then give teachers (and parents) back the authority to actually discipline kids. Raise the standards of education. We have people walking out of college knowing as little or less than a high school student should.
As for Survivor, wrestling, etc. What does where it came from have to do with the ratings it gets. Wrestling has NO redeeming values. Temptation Island has NO redeeming values. It is TRASH. And Titus, as funny as it is, is not something to point to when discussing the intellectual and moral integrity of America...
This isn\'t about comparing to any other nation. Its about taking responsibility as a country for being screwed up, weak, and stupid.
