PS2 Ape Escape 2001? Screenshots!!!

 Ape Escape 2001, Sony has released new info on their Playstation 2 action game Sarngetchu 2001 (Ape Escape 2001), scheduled to release in Japan this Summer, as the game name suggests, this time there will be a total of 2001 apes in the game, you have to use your catcher to catch all of them back.  There will be several new types of apes, such as swimming and flying apes.  Cool!! This game will be lots of fun!! ???(2001 apes to catch!!)??? Will it make it to the States?

Yeah, those are blurry. What the hell is going on in the pictures? Who releases shots that small?

Those guys really like everything petite; their food, their houses, their women...

Anywho... I loved the first game, the way the developers took advantage of the dualshock was inspiring. I hope they show the world how to properly use the functions of the dualshock2. I\'m sure they can come up with some innovative and fun use of the analog buttons.

The net isn\'t as prevalent over in Japan, on computers anyway. Many more Japanese use their cell phones to surf the net, so small pics on Japanese sites are used more.

...That\'s what I heard anyway...

But then the pics would be the size of their screens regardless of how big they were on the net. If they shrunk them proportionaly, they\'d be microscopic.

I never played this game on playstation, any good?

The original was very good indeed. I\'d say the best platformer on the ol\' PS. More fun than a barrel of monkeys. Some minor camera niggles though (as with every other 3D platformer), but they don\'t derive from the overall greatness of the title.

Those pics look quite nice, not considering the size and quality. Bigger pics would be better, but from these you can see that the environments are quite big (3rd pic) and there are tons and tons of monkeys. Yay! Get out yer net and start sackin\' \'em in!

The characters look kinda blocky

I´ve heard in a spanish web that the game will be playable at E3, so all you who will go to the show could play it!

The apes do look really blocky, like they\'re made with the same amount of polygons as in the prequel. I think this is early imagery and the graphics are gonna get better. And who cares if they\'re blocky, as long as it\'s fun chasing them

Hawke is right, the apes do look very blocky and the pictures are way to small. Basically, these pictures don\'t offer alot, \'cept the reality that Ape Escape is in development and we can expect it sometime in 2001 ?

Maybe we could write to them and get them to change it to Eascaping Humans and have Clyde as the hero.
