THPS3, or X-Games Skateboarding?
« on: April 21, 2001, 03:49:39 PM »
Im tryin to decide which one I want, I have played both THPS games, and beaten them. But I have never played any ESPN  games. Which graphically looks better? Although we havent seen any THPS3 shots yet. Is there a X-Games Skateboardin websitE?

Well I\'d go THPS3 if I were you. THPS is the original and the best. Of course I\'ve never played the ESPN X-Games games before so I can\'t really make that judgement.

The X-Games pics I\'ve seen looked like crap if you ask me.

And even if THPS3 doesn\'t have Bob Burnquist it has Bam Margera(the Jackass guy). ;)

We don\'t and won\'t know anything about THPS3 until E3. And what an E3 it will be.

What it comes down to is stay tuned and find out.

I also think that the THPS games are WAY to easy, and unrealistic. I mean you can be 2 feet away from a rail jump in the air, hit the grind button and you magically float over and get on it. I beat THPS2 in 1 day

thats kinda funny the ones I seen look pretty cool

I suspect THPS3 to be better though. Thats a multi million dollar franchise that will get the red carpet dev budget

ive seen pics of ths3, they look awesome, but i didnt see any pics that show the background, mostly close up shots. TH is really easy, i prob get that, but x-games could also be cool, ill prob get both :D

Interesting post. It really is way too early to decide. However going from history, I would have to say THPS3.

I\'ve played one ESPN snowboarding game on the PC which was well average.

THPS i\'ve completed the original and the sequal, they are great games to play.

I do agree with Hollywood about them being a tad unrelalistic, esp where the grind is concerned. However if you look at a game called Thrasher Skate and Destroy it simply was too relalistic which elimanted the fun factor of the game.

So currently I would say THPS3 but im going to look into the ESPN game too as the screenshots look cool.

All we can do is wait and see. :)

THPS3 all the way baby, I got totaly absorbed in the first 2 games and thought they were excelent.
The music is very good (normally i\'m a Drum n Bass fan) but the music suits the game so well, i even found myself
nodding away to the tunes. Seriously, IMHO both Tony Hawks 1 & 2 were inside my top 10 PS1 games. Love it
Bring it on activision.

I hate the music genre in Tony Hawks but for some reason I liked the songs used and after a while of playing I knew the words to all the songs. :)

It was also cool completly switching all the music off and just skating with the sound fx.

Ahh me remember those days :0) I used to listen to quite a bit then i got into Techstep and Artcore. Some of
my favourite labels were Rienforced and Movin\' Shadow. There were some serious slammers out there eh? :D

Did you ever hear of a DJ called Mastersafe? He is a leicester lad like myself and i personally know him.
Top bloke, he still plays a little but not as much as before.
