That\'s the japanese Dev kit, now, isn\'t it?  The japanese 1000 unit linux dev kit release DOESN\'T allow you to use current software, though it\'s net ready.  Wait untill a larger production comes our way (though that does look pretty cool).

Well your lucky I guess :D

I have a P2 400mhz 128MBRAM and my computer boots in 1 min 40+ secs.

And I bet PS2 would be good on the net, if connected to a monitor.
WOLA! Now I only need to wait 10 secs :)

Thing is with all this boot time thing, does one or two minutes really hurt your day sooooo much?  To be honest, I think the boot time to launch the ps2 software etc to get it ready for connection will be much longer than 10 sec etc.  I love my pc. always will be using it!!!
If you need help,
I will be there for you my friend,
I will never let you down.

You\'re so busy you can\'t wait two minutes for your PC to boot, but you can reply to this topic 5 times? Sounds like you have some time management issues. I\'m impressed that your ps2 take only 8-10 seconds to boot up and get to a game, that\'s way faster than mine.

If your logic continues, then you have a seperate DVD player to watch movies, because they don\'t have to boot up at all, and the PS2 does, and that wastes valuable time.

According to translations of the article the VGA cable only works with the Linux software because it is written to display in the higher resolutions.

The article also says that the harddrive that comes with this kit is not the same as the "consumer" HDD that will be released with use for games and such, and they do not guarantee that this harddrive will be compatible with those future games that use the harddrive and ethernet connection.

Basically it\'s a Linux kit for the PS2 that will allow garage development, kinda like Net Yaroze did.  The kit includes manuals for the EE, the GS, the two vector units, and it also includes three graphics libraries I believe and a bunch of other stuff for those of us that would love to play around with the thing.

Exactly. What the hell are you talking about faston? Your reasoning sounds really, really.... dumb. Sorry, that\'s just the way I see it.

Well soory!

What would you rather choose?
A console that reboots in 10 secs. (Im not talking games here Aaron)
Or a PC that takes over 1 minute to boot up windows?

Hmm.

I would go for the console! IF its internet friendly :)
And my PC has a bad habit of freezing all the time :(

Damn, I really need a new PC!
