I have no problems such as these, since my boyfriend loves games as much as I do.
But when it comes to friends, I have only 1 who really, really loves them as I do! It\'s great to hang around with her, cause we can talk about games & obviously play them too. Then there\'s one other girl who used to play, but she only liked Tomb Raider. But it was fun while it lasted, we talked about TR strategies all the time.
But you can\'t really claim that GIRLS don\'t like games. I know that many guys don\'t like them either. (surprise!) I\'ve heard many of them say that they hate games & don\'t understand why someone would want to play much. It all depends on the person! But I admit, of course, that most players are guys, unfortunately.
The big challenge would be to make girls understand that there\'s more to games than mindless bashing. I wouldn\'t claim that it\'s the violence in games that drives girls away, cause I myself adore violent games. It\'s just that many girls think there\'s no story, no emotion, no deeper meaning in games. And in their prejudice they won\'t bother to find out. I am sure though, that there is a game for everyone, and if you introduced a well chosen game for your girl, she would fall in love with it no matter how much she dislikes gaming! Many girls like RPGs such as Final Fantasy.
But then again, I wouldn\'t understand those girls, cause there\'s never been a time in my life when I didn\'t play.
