I can tell the difference between 30 and 60fps.... you\'d have to be blind not to. Fortunately, I think, like GT3, we don\'t have to worry, the final game will be better than early versions.... although it\'s all speculation. It would suck if it was 30 fps... I would pass on it. I only like games like that for the eye candy. At least there\'s plenty of time still....

The ignorance in here is astounding!

Matt: All the builds so far have a frame rate cap at 30 FPS, which as you can imagine is well within the Xbox\'s capabilities. The final frame rate hasn\'t really been determined yet; it\'ll be as high as we can make it (within reason of course).

The game has not been optimized for final hardware yet, so of course it\'s running only 30fps, you guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill.  This has nothing to do with the final version of Halo running 30fps.  Where did you get that from?  He said that the current builds were running at 30 fps.  Do you think that the current build is actually the finished game?  If you do, then you are extremely stupid.  I think this topic is reaching quite a bit for some negativity concerning the Xbox.

You guys totally disregarded the final sentence.  he said that the final framerate wasn\'t really determined but they will make it as high as they reasonably can.  That could be 60 or 70 fps for all we know!  This topic is ludicrous, I can\'t believe you guys actually accepted the notion that Halo would be shipped running at 30 fps.  Halo running 60+ fps is a given when optimized for final hardware.  Just because they have final kits does not mean the game is optimized already, it\'s still about 5 months from launch so we will see big improvements between now and then.
When all is said and done...the PS2 will be remembered as the console with the best games in Fall 2001.

mabye, but what if when they were developing, they had the final specs for the x box,  so they optomised the game for those specs, then they would have trouble moving it up, but nowhere in that article does it say that.
:D
IM BACK. you have a problem with that? get in the back.

They would need asteady framerate to debug other aspects of the game, hence the limiting of frames on the older dev. kits.

Directxbox,

Notice the word IF included in my statements. This is all theoretical for none of us know the final outcome. It might be 30fps, it might be 60. Just because you think it will be doesn\'t mean it has to be. Relax, take a breather, and we\'ll see the results in the future. If it stays @ 30 what will you be mumbling then?

If you think about this

A.) XBox dev kits represent 50% of Xbox\'s final power

B.) 30 FPS would represent 50% of 60FPS

which means that Halo at this time is being capped at 30FPS on the incomplete dev kits because they can increase the polygons by twice as much and the game should expectingly run at 30FPS

but when they get the final dev kits the game should pretty much run at 60FPS from the get go. This means they can do all there final tuning and stuff and already have a game pretty muched locked in 60FPS.

The dev. kits are complete..
They have been for a few weeks.

But maybe Bungie havent got theirs yet...

But I find that hard to belive cuz M$ bought up Bungie, so Bungie should get there kits pretty fast.

Maybe its on final hardware, maybe its not.
Does it say anything in the artical??

Wait for E3!
Its gonna bee great for all consoles.

Your just assuming Faston.  We don\'t know anything about weather the developers have the kits yet or not. Plus even if bungie got theres now, do you think they have anytime to exploit it before E3, I don\'t think so.

I just don\'t get this thread. It is not even finished yet they said the latest was running at 30fps and the final will be as high as they can get it. So what is your point?

Nothing exactly next thread.

look i likes the look of HALO , and if i was going to GET a X BOX then this would be THE game i would ensure i buy on launch day.

But all this nonsence about the frame rate ..... 30 FPS is the Same as RED faction AFTER ALL , and even though i have not played it from what i have Heard it only gets in the way of the game play now and then.

If you still want to bash this game so be it but atleast give it a chance......

Remember you DON\'T HAVE TO BUY IT YOU KNOW !

so why BASH IT !

Leavethat for the Army Men Games ! lol.
