IGN going too?
« on: May 11, 2001, 05:53:15 AM »
My mate told me IGN was short of money, thats why they started that insider thing where you have to subscribe.

Anyone think it\'s heading in the direction of Daily Radar?

Of course IGN is short on money. They have what seems to be a zillion writers   / staff and it is a very bad time for websites like IGN / DR   and even PS2 central. So, yes you can see "Insider" as a way to raise money. Will they shut down?
That is anyones guess.

They are not short on money. They started Insider so that they would be alright when they DID get short on money.

Well, to be honest, there are enough smalltime news sites out there that loosing IGN wouldn\'t be that big of a deal.  I know it sucks losing sites, but it happens.

ign should switch to homestead, their web hosting is free!!!, wait, wouldnt they want to make money to pay their writers? nevermind...
i have noticed the number of new ads at ign that pop up.... its really sad...if psx2central goes that way, i say we all should pitch in to save it... the regulars at least..
its an idea..:D

PS. this is the best news source on the net.;)
IM BACK. you have a problem with that? get in the back.

Insider is their last ditch effort to save the site. If it fails. so does IGN.

They site doesn\'t need saving. They started insider to prevent that from happening in the future. I emailed Matt myself and that is what he told me.

BTW, Insider already has well over 2000 members.
