I don\'t know why, but it appears that auction was for the box and packaging but NOT the PS2 console itself.  That\'s the way I read it.  What\'s the point?

I saw a similar auction, but the bid got up to around $400, I think i read that in OPM or online somewhere. anyway, the lady was pissed to find out she paid alot for a box.

Yes, I remember posting about this subject way earlier I read about it from a finnish magazine. Truly funny stuff...

A few people did this around Xmas, during the craze, and I saw a box with about 30 bids on it, well over 500 US.  It was nuts, there were just sooo many PS2s that people would just bid without reading the descriptions.  Technically, once you had the person\'s money, there is nothing they can do, because you aren\'t misrepresenting what you are selling AT all...

They can\'t even claim it\'s useless, since you include the miscellaneous papers it comes with (not manual) - and as I recall, some of those papers were pretty usefull (demodisks and whatnot).

I\'ve heard that the "winner" is from germany but I\'m not sure. (Was it me?)

Ended at $10.50.  Not too bad for a blue box of cardboard & "stirafoam".  My box is still sitting in my attic....hmmm...$10.50 is 1/5th of a new game
