Nintendo won?

Take a look at this:

http://www.msnbc.com/news/574896.asp

That\'s kinda weird. MSNBC (MicroSoftNBC) praising Nintendo and criticizing the Xbox. What do you think?

Well, I think it\'s good that they weren\'t paid off by Microsoft to sway their opinion.

I also think that what is said is mostly just that, opinion.

The article, too, was based largely on the initial press conferences. (I believe)  Nintendo, according to reports, had a better representation, and also talked more about games than the other guys, so that could be simply what influenced that article.

Yeah, but check out who wrote the article: Steven Kent. He\'s been a firm Gamecube supporter even through it\'s darkest days, and although he gets my favor for that, I wouldn\'t put too much credit to his words when he says that Nintendo stole the show.

I was told the same in another forum, so basically you guys are saying that because this one man believes that Nintendo Won, that automatically translates into success.

Hell No. I think DC had a better E3, lets just say, I wasnt too impressed by too many of the kiddy games that Nintendo showed. I thought I remembered someone telling me that Too Human, Resident Evil 0, etc,etc were going to be there to show off nintendos new adult additude.

Anyone could make a kiddy game look good.

Agreed  AlteredBeast. I wonder what Nintendo FanBoys are saying in the GC forums?? there probably praising those kiddy cartoonish games. I bet they think the LUGI mansion game is pure brilliance

I thought Nintendo had a great E3 being it was the real unveiling of GC

The PS2 just has tons of kick ass stuff coming around and more on the way

I\'d say GC and the PS2 definetly ruled the show

Xbox E3 reminded me of last years PS2 E3. So much anticipation but not quite ready to be shown off in  a mass public arena

I think in pure games shown, X-Box won. As it had Jet Set Radio Future. That alone puts it over the top for me. SSB2 looked great, but I didnt like the first one, probably wont like the 2nd.

I guess it is all preference though. Until Sega shows me some new materail on GC, instead of just PSOv2, my opinion stays.

i have mixed feeling about this e3. On one side its one of the best ever, but on the other side it was a bit of a letdown. Nintendo was graphicallly amazing, but their lineup was weak and in some areas too kiddie. I agree with alterd beast, nintendo is trying to be mature? they must be joking! Most of their games were all colorfull, happy and kiddie. Games like DK racing, Luigi mansion, pikimin and smash bros come to mind.

Xbox did better than i expected, they showed o unreal champions which impressed me. Even Doa3, Amped and that lionhead game looked amazing. They just didn\'t show enough to overwhelm me.

Sony on the other hand was dissapointing and amazing at the same time. That naught dog game looks superb (better than i expected). Sony showed a bunch of great games including GT3, MGS2, DMC etc etc. unfortunatly i have played all of these on my import ps2. so there was nothing new for me. Namco made my day by anouncing tekken 4 and sc2, sony did a good job with SOCOM and their online plans.

I have to wait and see........................

I think Nintendo had the best showing, just because of the fact that there was so much anticipation and we had no idea what titles were coming out. Also, there were just as many "mature" games as there were "kiddy" games. Why differentiates them anyways.

Sony came in second. Not because what they showed wasn\'t impressive, but because we knew what to expect. If they had (somehow ;) ) hid the fact that some games were coming out, Sony would\'ve stolen the show.

Microsoft was dissapointing. Despite Jet Grind Radio Future (which IMO looks great), I just didn\'t see any surprises. What I saw was what I expected to see. Besides, the Dreamcast sequel to JGR is in the works.

I don\'t feel like anyone particularly won. Nintnedo didn\'t show off alot of their more mature games and often mixed FMV with realtime without telling the audience which was which. That dissapointed me.

Microsoft showed off some good looking games, but none of them really had a huge impact. The one marquee title that MS is really leaning on to make an impression, Halo, was choppy and not nearly as good looking as I would have expected.

Sony blew all their big news the day before the showing which really softened the impact many of those announcements could have made. Not to mention that while their AOL/Time Warner partnership is a huge advantage... it\'s still a partnership with AOL. (Ugh) Personally I was more impressed with their partnership with Cisco.

Sega, while having a great showing, didn\'t have nearly the impact they did at last years show partly because of their decision to drop the Dreamcast. It would have been funny as hell to watch little ol\'e Sega steal the show this year too, right out from under the noses of the industry\'s three largest companies.

IMO, the only people who should boast that they "won" the show.. was the gamers.
