NOTTINGHAM, UK -- 17 May 2001 -- Free Radical Design, developer of the highly successful and critically acclaimed PlayStation 2 launch title TimeSplitters, announces TimeSplitters 2 on PlayStation 2, to be published by Eidos Interactive.
TimeSplitters 2 will improve on the original in every conceivable way. The game offers a more involving single player and co-operative story mode, featuring a complex narrative with multiple objective-based episodes and superbly animated cut-scenes.

The game engine has been extensively upgraded to accommodate bigger, better backgrounds and special graphical effects while still providing the distinctive smooth fast paced action of the original. A completely rewritten animation system incorporating inverse kinematics brings even more lifelike movement and dynamism to a new collection of \'loveable rogue\' characters.

TimeSplitters 2 will retain the unique MapMaker in an enhanced form which opens up even more potential for user customised game scenarios. The multiplayer mayhem of the original will be back but TimeSplitters 2 further extends the possibilities with I-Link support allowing multiple consoles to be linked together.

Mike McGarvey, CEO of Eidos says: "Free Radical Design demonstrated with TimeSplitters that they are one of the world\'s leading development teams. To say we are excited about TimeSplitters 2 would be a massive understatement."

David Doak, Managing Director of Free Radical Design says: "With TimeSplitters we were just finding our feet, now we can go to town and show people what we\'re really capable of doing - TimeSplitters 2 will be an exceptional game."

*ooseven runs over to his PS2 and gives it a big KISS*

I wonder if some of the TS charaters will be in it ?

Also more Challenges and  a ACTUAL Story line with plot and cut sceens YEAH .

Pure CLASS.

Wonder if they will include a COOP mode aLA PERFECT DARK ?

i am sorry but am i the only person with a PS2 who found TS better that Quake 3 or Unreal ?

P.S

is it just me or dose this look like that ZACK PHOTON guy that was on the TS LEVEL PLANET X ?

maybe this time you can pick one charater and take them through the entire story line or it could be his Great Great GREAND father in a eariler time period or something.

Sweet, dear Lord.  Thank you.  Thank you.

I was just about to post on this today, asking if there was any information.

Thank you, Lord, those screenshots make me sick with anticipation!

And yeah, I will immediately sign a petition for online play!

It\'s looking great.  I hope they can keep the framerate at 60 FPS.  That is one major thing that keeps this game above all of the competition.

When people purchase PS2\'s, they do not care too much about graphics.  We have to remember that Sony gamers are in it for the gameplay, with graphics being of secondary interest.  Although this remains to be true, developers continually strive to squeeze every ounce of juice they can possibly squeeze out of the PS2 in order to give their customers\' the eye candy that people who own systems other than the PS2 take for granted.  Be thankful PS2 fanatics, for you are receiving the cream of the crop as far as videogames go.  As far as systems go...well, that\'s an entirely different story and an irrelevant story at that.
Respect your fellow gamers simply because they enjoy playing videogames just like you.

Looks like another great game for the PS2! Didn\'t get the first, but this game looks really promising.

One annoying thing I found in Unreal Tournament is the slowdowns when there are more then 2 players. If Timesplitter 2 keeps a 60 fps during 4 players, this game is going to kick. :D
