I want a 2 player adventure game and gauntlet does not cut it for me.....

Yes it is two player. When in two player mode the screen is supose to raise when the other playher leaves the screen. Im sure it decreases qualitiy and maybe have a few slow downs whenthe person is rela far away. But then agian why would someone ever want to be that far away.
