This game is sweet: Look at those graphics. If the gameplay is good, this will be a must have.

Yeah i\'ve seen some footage of this.

Simply put its class: The AA is perfect, great lighting effects, all runs really smooth, when you speak to people the camera swoops down nicely etc, weapon select system looks good.

It seems they have sorted everything to do with controls, graphics, frame rate etc.

Im really looking forward for this one. I just hope it has good gameplay.

I\'m warning you guys, this game is very hard.  You will probably get frustrated a lot.  Especially when you have to fight dragons.

I thought Baulder\'s Gate was that one where it was a PC game and you could be a big blue giant guy and a girl etc..

No on the PC its hard because it takes a half hour to kill something. This is supposed to be more fast paced. But yes I do think it will be hard. Just not the Baulders Gate hard we have been recieveing in the past.

I went thorugh the old omes and picked my favorite pics.

I have this game for the PC and it is VERY taxing.  If they turn this game into a hack and slash though i have a feeling its going to bomb.  The reason this game was a hit on the PC was because of the AD&D rules.  Give it a different name if its gonna be hack and slash, it doesnt deserve the steller reputation of "Baldur\'s Gate"

No It will most definitely NOT be just Hack/Slash. Read on....

This is taken from the official sites FAQ section.

Q: What else are you planning on adding to the game?

A: There is still work to be done incorporating rules for the Dungeons & Dragons system. As well we need to add in feedback systems so that the player knows how much damage they are dealing (and being dealt!). There are only a few effects in the game currently for things like spells, the vast majority of these still need to be implemented along with a number of other things like animating things in the levels, interface screens, sound effects, music, and multiple levels and bosses.

Q: I’ve heard of Dungeons & Dragons, what’s this 3rd Edition stuff?

A: Dungeons & Dragons was originally released back in 70s. It met with commerical success, but by the mid-80s, several competing, and more refined pen and paper role-playing games had been introduced into the market. To compete, TSR refined and tweaked the game and released 2nd Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in 1989. After a decade of use, TSR (now Wizards of the Coast) decided to revamp the D&D system again. Only this time they started from the ground up, tweaking and changing the system to make it much more playable, streamlined, and easy to understand. These 3rd Edition rules were introduced in August of 2000. Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance will be the first console game to feature this new rule system for D&D.

Q: How close is it to the pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons?

A: Some aspects of the pen and paper version of Dungeons & Dragons don’t work well in a video game RPG while others are perfect. We are implementing D&D to work in this environment by following those rules as closely as possible except where they don’t function well in an action oriented game like BG Dark Alliance. We use the experience, character class, character advancement, and combat systems very closely however, most of the changes are to the combat system - which is turn based in pen and paper D&D and realtime in BG Dark Alliance. For example, since BGDA is a real-time adaption, magic uses a regenerating mana system which differs from the D&D rules, but helps keep gameplay fast-paced. Traditionally, you have to rest a number of hours to regain the ability to cast a spell

...And here\'s one of my favorites..:D

Q: What are you doing with the Playstation 2 hardware? Are you doing things that can’t be done on other consoles or on the PC?

A: The envioronmental effects working in BG: Dark Alliance would bring your friend\'s fastest PC to a crawl. It could be years until the PC can do all of the things that you\'ll see in BG: Dark Alliance.

Well, there is A LOT more info at the official site..-->HERE!!

Nice opinion

but you obviously can not say this until you actually play it. The rules of D+D will be very present in the game. yes the game engine will be tweaked for console friendliness, but if I wanted to play a PC game I\'d buy a PC game

This game will not bomb. Its just a matter of how well it will do
