  Nintendo is an outright disaster and thats unfortunate, they will do better next year, but RS2 is the only game worth picking up this entire year.  

  Xbox has DOA3, Halo, Project Gotham (GT3), Amped, and NFL Fever, which blows away PS2\'s launch with a puny Madden 2001 (which 2002 is on xbox at launch) and SSX, lets not even go there.

  Give xbox the same amount of time that PS2 currently has and its a different story.  I promise that when xboxes are out and available everywhere, the 12 million PS2\'s that are REALLY out there will be slowing down bigtime.

Xbox has the best launch, best hardware, best easy to use API of any Next Generation console hands down.

I don\'t want to hype the xbox up for beyond what it doesn\'t deserve but you do have to call a spade a spade here folks.

BTW, Outcast 2 is being done on the PC, so It can be done on the xbox as well, but I don\'t think all of what is shown of outcast2 to be realtime.  For instance, do you see the sweat on his face in that model?  Well the PS2 could do that with all the rest of the high polygon and textures but you would be running at 5 frames per second on the PS2.  PS2 was not cut out for doing those kind of things in realtime.  Outcast 2 will look good, I have played the first version, but it won\'t look as good as people are thinking from some of the standalone models.  Xbox could handle it all in realtime though and maintain 60 frames per second.

I agree, but the PS2 fanboys that riddle these boards feel insecure about their hasty purchase of the PS2 and can\'t come to grips with the fact that their beloved console has gone from cutting-edge to obsolete in one year.  If the PS2 games were great, I would have one, and it\'s as simple as that.  I\'ve never owned a PSX and so naturally PS2 doesn\'t appeal to me since it has nothing but mostly PSX sequels and PC ports.  That\'s what PS2 stands for: PortSequels2.  But all of this is just my insignificant opinion, because like assholes, everyone has one.

The point of this post was to squash the fanboys in denial who say, "There won\'t be a noticable difference between Xbox and PS2 games, blah blah..."  PS2\'s userbase is it\'s only saving grace, like I mentioned before.  I\'d never buy a system for safety in numbers, I buy it for the games.  Right now, Halo, NFL Fever 2002, Amped and DoA3 are the only games I want to play right now.  The fact that Shenmue 2 is coming to the box is another incentive for me.  Play what you like, just don\'t make up lies to support your favorite console.  PS2 graphics will never catch up to the Xbox...never.  Live with it and play your games.

You call the PS2 obsolete, once I read that I knew the rest of your post would be bull****, like I didn\'t know you were a xbox fanboy anyway.  and I say there isn\'t  much of a difference, I have seen the xbox in motion and it doesn\'t look that much better, your a reject thinking that it isn\'t even close, oh and two of games you want to play will be squashed by two other games, Amped won\'t be nearly as good as SSX TRICKY, and the DOA series blows **** in the gameplay department

If anything its Xbox fans who are obviously insecure to actually puff out their caved in chests and actually post this dribble. Especially since everyone here has now seen Xbox in motion and it comes up  considerably shorter then expected. Heck I\'ve been to my local video store  1/2 dozen time in the last 10 days and everytime I\'m there I hear comments on the Xbox and everyone is losing excitement except for those who are too old to enjoy Nintendo and choose to hate Sony for whatever lame reason they can come up with (which IMO matches the lame reasons for peopel hating XBox)

Amped, NFL Fever, DOA3 are all matched or susrpassed by PS2 equivalents. Not to mention the amount of killer apps that will dominate the Holiday season


What kills me is you Xbox fanboys call yourself gamers yet you continually make up reasons to hate games on a system you are hoping will fail or not do so well for some sake of foolish fanboy pride (not that there aren\'t equal amounts of PS2 and GC fans with the same mission here and everywhere).


Xbox has its strengths, but it will never dwarf the PS2 and the PS2 is further away from Obsolete then the XBox is for numerous reasons.

Why some of you are so willing to deny yourself some of the great times that the PS2 is offering is puzzling beyond comprehension. Well put Ddaryl, well put. I like X-Box yes but these fanboys are really starting to piss me off. They try to make their console look good by puting nothing but crap on PS2 messageboards. And a lot of them are the same. Put down other consoles and praise theirs.

The xbox is a stunning machine, it\'s just a shame they missed the boat when it came to releasing it at a reasonable price to compete in an allready difficult marketplace.

If you think that xbox will be the market leader in 2 years time then why not go and place a bet on it now? Put your money where your mouth is.

I suppose microsoft expect everyone to go out and buy an expensive tv to go with their expensive console so the graphics actually do look good and not just blurred like 85% of the owners of xbox\'s will.

I\'m going to wait two years before thinking about buying an xbox, in that time the fanboys will have pumped enough money into the machine to maybe make it a worthwhile purchase.

But this xmas I\'m going to spend my cash on lots a new games for the ps2, while the xbox boys are waiting, I\'ll be playing
